In the Breakers series, humanity faces not one apocalypse, but two: first a lethal pandemic, then a war against those who made the virus. This collection includes the first three books and is over 1000 pages (350,000 words) of post-apocalyptic survival. BREAKERS (Book 1) In New York, Walt Lawson is about to lose his girlfriend Vanessa. In Los Angeles, Raymond and Mia James are about to lose their house. Within days, none of it will matter. A plague tears across the world, reducing New York to an open grave and LA to a chaotic wilderness of violence and fires. Civilization comes to an abrupt stop. Just as the survivors begin to adapt to the aftermath, Walt learns the virus that ended humanity wasn't created by humans. It was inflicted from outside. The colonists who sent it are ready to finish the job–and Earth's survivors may be too few and too weak to resist. MELT DOWN (Book 2) In upstate Idaho, Ness Hook is run out of his mom's house by his bullying brother Shawn. In Redding, California, Tristan Carter is graduating college, but with no job and no prospects, she'll have to move back in with her parents. Then the world ends: first with a virus, then with an alien invasion. Ness and Shawn take to the mountains to fight a guerrilla against the attackers. In California, Tristan and Alden are taken prisoner. Separated from her brother, Tristan crosses the ruins of America to track him down. She will stop at nothing to get Alden back–but her fellow survivors prove even more dangerous than the monsters who broke the world. KNIFEPOINT (Book 3) Raina was just a girl when the plague came. She survived. Her parents didn't. Neither did the world. As civilization fell, she took to the ruins of Los Angeles, eating whatever she could catch. After two years alone, she's found and adopted by a fisherman and his wife. Their makeshift family lives a quiet life–until a man named Karslaw sails in from Catalina Island with an army of conquerors. Driven by visions of empire, he executes Raina's new father as a traitor and takes her mother captive. But Karslaw's people aren't the only ones vying for control of the ruined land. As violence wracks the city, Raina joins a rebellion against Karslaw's rule. She will stop at nothing to free her mother–and to have her revenge.

Disabled by gigantic alien warships before it can escape, the Aurora is boarded by nightmarish blue-skinned warriors with claws and fangs who slaughter the crew in ritual combat using primitive weapons. The sole survivor, Midshipman Ichiro Sato, is returned to Earth as a messenger bearing a device that warns of an impending attack. For that is the way of the Kreelan Empire, which has waged war against civilizations across the stars in its quest for a savior, one not of their own blood, foretold in an ages-old prophecy. With only a few generations left before their ancient species faces extinction, the Kreelans will wage their last war against humanity, hoping against hope for redemption of sins long past. "Faeries liked to tease the weak, but they  loved  to annihilate the strong." Seven years ago, the exposure of the paranormal led to the tumultuous downfall of human society. Now, the legions of the fae rule the broken world, and humanity has nothing left but a handful of protected cities and a heaping helping of regret. Enter Vincent Whelan. Half fae and former cop, he's become the best-known stretch scavenger in Kinsale, North Carolina, braving the "stretches" outside his city to recover precious items lost in the collapse. He makes good money. Lives the good life. Has a good future in store. As long as he can ignore his traumatic memories of the past. But when a new job with an odd twist blows onto his doorstep, Vince finds himself unwittingly drawn into a vast conspiracy lurking underneath Kinsale's thin veneer of civilization. Old friends suddenly return to haunt him. New enemies appear at every turn. And Vince fears he isn't prepared to confront either one. But if he doesn't put his detective hat back on and solve this case on a tight deadline, then what's left of the city he calls home might just crumble to dust.  What Fate Portends is the first novel of The Frost Arcana, an action-packed urban fantasy series set in a post-apocalyptic world.

The brutal murder of Lavalé fey Avecath, the King's First Magistrate and advisor, interrupts Constable Inspector Reva Lunaria's day off. The victim's status makes this a high-profile investigation, bringing with it unwanted attention from Senior Inquisitor Ailan Malvaceä of the Sucra, the King's secret police. The manner of the victim's death makes this case even more intriguing. A body cut perfectly in half – from top to bottom – is a rare occurrence, even in a city filled with all manner of magic weapons. All of this would be challenging enough, but Inspector Lunaria must also deal with a new partner, Seeker Ansee Carya, who is clearly not up to her standards. As Reva faces a growing body count, Senior Inquisitor Malvaceä undertakes his own mission to find the same killer, but with a very different agenda. Reva's investigation takes unexpected turns as wild conspiracies, hidden addictions, and Dark Elf soldiers all threaten to distract Reva from tracking down the killer. Reva's only hope of stopping the serial killer from cutting more prominent citizens of Tenyl in half is to figure out how to work with Seeker Carya and overcome her own weaknesses.

I preferred it when life came in tidy packages. When it didn’t — when something went awry — I was exceedingly skilled at packaging it back up. It was my job to do so, after all. I was a reconstructionist. I collected the puzzle pieces, then I gave those pieces to an investigative team to sort out. I didn’t ask questions. I didn’t offer answers. I saw, I recorded, and I moved on. I didn’t dwell or obsess. I didn’t hunt down suspects. I didn’t follow clues to find a killer. And I certainly didn’t work side by side with anyone — least of all a vampire who I strongly suspected might turn out to be the major missing component when the case was complete. Then I saw something I couldn’t forget. It wasn’t the bloodiest thing I’d ever seen — it wasn’t even close — but it haunted me. I didn’t like being haunted. But I couldn’t figure out how to get it out of my head. Someone was killing teenaged boys in the Pacific Northwest. Despite my misgivings, if I could help catch a killer, I had to at least try.  —————— This 68,000 word urban fantasy is the first book in the Reconstructionist Series by author Meghan Ciana Doidge. Author’s note: The ideal reading order of Catching Echoes (Reconstructionist 1) is after the first six books in the Dowser Series and the three books in the Oracle series, but it's not actually necessary to read the Dowser or the Oracle series before reading the Reconstructionist Series.

From the moment you are born, you are conditioned to know this truth: Unorthodoxy is wrong action, Heterodoxy is wrong thought. One will lead to your Detention. The other to your Execution. Two generations after the Execution of Kane 148 and Otpor's return to Orthodoxy, the Resistor's legacy still lingers.  In this future, post-apocalyptic Paris, forbidden murals are appearing on crumbling concrete walls – calling citizens to action. Calling for Resistance. When Kane's former protege, Anaiya 234, is selected for a high-risk undercover mission, Otpor is given the chance it needs to eliminate the Heterodoxy and Anaiya the opportunity she craves to erase a shameful past. But the mission demands an impossible sacrifice – her identity. While the growing rebellion will change the utopian lives of all Otpor's citizens, for Anaiya it will change who she is. As the risk of violence escalates and every decision is fraught with betrayal, will Anaiya's fractured identity save her or condemn her? —– With this accomplished debut offering, Kopievsky presents a dark dystopian tale with complex characters, exquisite world-building and high tension. Divided Elements (Book 1) – Resistance is a welcomed addition to the intelligent speculative fiction tradition of dystopian literature. Read what fans are already saying: "I loved the ideas in the book, no two ways about it. They are original and ambitious – and despite being a debut, the quality of the writing has the assured aplomb of a seasoned writer… Mikhaeyla's society is convincing and the setting of this post-apocalyptic Paris where drugs, sex and night life spill out into the streets full of Izakaya bars is utterly arresting." Smorgasbord Fantasia "A book that would appeal to fans of dystopia (Think 1984, George Orwell) Resistance is an utterly thought-provoking and subversive book in this genre – Highly entertaining, poignant and brutal by shades, Divided Elements is an original novel, pushing the boundaries of this genre – and Mikhaeyla is surely a writer to watch out for." Sachin Dev, author of  Faith of the Nine "Resistance is a stunning debut…Intense, imaginative and gripping, if you like dystopian fiction, you will want to read this book. I'm looking forward to the next in the series."  Doddy About Books " Resistance isn't like other dystopian novels you've read… I would highly recommend this novel to fans of dystopian fiction such as George Orwell's 1984 and Huxley's Brave New World . The novel also reminded me of the video games République and the post-Paris cyberpunk adventure, Remember Me in setting and tone. But none of these other works do the novel justice: in Resistance , Indie author Mikhaeyla Kopievsky manages to create fresh and new dystopia worth exploring."  Edge of Infinity

REVIEWS: "This is one of my favourite books I’ve read this year… I can’t praise it enough… The real stand out for this was the writing and the character voice." ~ The Moonlight Library "The writing in The Wrong Girl was beautiful. There were so many quotes that I wanted to write down, and keep… The world building, and the plot drew me in from the get go, and didn’t falter until the last sentence." ~ Books For A Delicate Eternity "This was one fantastic read! A really fascinating story which I couldn't put down, so this is easily a 5 stars." ~ Tea Party Princess DESCRIPTION: It's customary for Gothic romance novels to include a mysterious girl locked in the attic. Hannah Smith just wishes she wasn't that girl. As a narcoleptic and the companion to an earl's daughter with a strange affliction of her own, Hannah knows she's lucky to have a roof over her head and food in her belly when so many orphans starve on the streets. Yet freedom is something Hannah longs for. She did not, however, want her freedom to arrive in the form of kidnapping. Taken by handsome Jack Langley to a place known as Freak House, she finds herself under the same roof as a mad scientist, his niece, a mute servant and Jack, a fire starter with a mysterious past. They assure Hannah she is not a prisoner and that they want to help her. The problem is, they think she's the earl's daughter. What will they do when they discover they took the wrong girl? A NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR: When I set out to write the Freak House series, I wanted to put my own spin on the Gothic novels of the Victorian era. I've always loved their creepiness, the secrets, and the romance too, but I wanted to see the story from the perspective of the character that is often present but never the heroine – the girl kept in the attic. I hope you'll enjoy this trilogy as much as I enjoyed writing it. ~CJ

PRAISE FOR AVOGADRO CORP WINNER SCIENCE FICTION DIY BOOK FESTIVAL 2011-2012 “A tremendous book that every single person needs to read. In the vein of Daniel Suarez’s Daemon and Freedom(TM), William’s book shows that science fiction is becoming science fact. Where magic is dark and gritty, characters troubled and twisted, and victory comes at a heavy price.  Deep under the City of Glass in the frozen southern land, an age-old machine called the Heart of the City radiates a power which locals call icefire. Most citizens are immune to it, but a few, always born with physical disabilities, can bend it to their will. For fifty years, the ruling Eagle Knights, who fly on the back of giant birds, have killed these Imperfects, fearing the return of the old royal family, who used icefire to cut out people's hearts, turning them into ghostly servitors.  The old king's grandson Tandor only sees the good things icefire brought: power and technology now forgotten while the people of the south live in dire poverty. He's had enough of seeing his fellow kinsfolk slaughtered by ignorant Knights, of Imperfect babies being abandoned on the ice floes to be eaten by wild animals. His grandfather's diary tells him how to increase the beat of the Heart the first step to making the land glorious once more. Arrogant as he is, he sets the machine in motion. All he needs is an army of Imperfect servitors to control the resulting power.  Isandor is Imperfect, an ex-Knight apprentice, betrayed by his best friend and running for his life.  The queen Jevaithi is Imperfect, living like a prisoner amidst leering Knights, surviving only because the common people would rebel if their beloved queen were harmed.  Both are young and desperate and should be grateful that Tandor wants to rescue them from their hopeless situations. Or so he thinks. The youngsters, however, have no inclination to become heartless ghosts, but while they defy Tandor, the Heart beats, and he alone cannot control its power.

Getting shot wasn't how I expected to end my Saturday night. I had always imagined what my obituary would be. Gemma Abbott – that's me – a witch, a complete book nerd, and an agent for Paranormal MI5, succumbed to the bullet that blah blah blah… nah, I'm not ready to die, which means I have to work hard to live. When a serial killer leaves a trail of dead bodies in the open for humans to find, I have to work fast to bring him in. With every death of a female witch, the ley line's power is mysteriously lessening. Dave, my handsomely nerdy desk friend, is a witch with no magic, but his analysing skills could change the world. Would he be able to help me track down the killer before magic dries up for good? Or, would the killer take us all down with him?

For a Ghost-Free Time, Call is an episodic supernatural adventure set in the emerald city of Eugene, Oregon which follows a young man, who–since he was a boy–has had the irritating ability to see ghosts all around him. In spite of this so-called “gift,” he found a way to cope and a few less than legitimate ways to make a little money on the side. But a con that started out as a way to make a quick buck will soon become a terrifying reality check about the world he thought he understood… “Eugene is teeming with ghosts and for some stupid, God damn reason, I’m the only one who can see them.” At the young age of nine, Jared developed the unnatural ability to see the lingering spirits of the dead, and beyond its initial novelty, all it’s ever done is piss him off. After having to grow up rather quickly on his own, Jared took something that would have easily driven most people insane and found a way to use his unwelcomed gift to his advantage. He studied and took notes from the most prevalent movies and television shows, and armed with every mainstream supernatural trope and cliché he could find, started his very own—more or less legitimate—ghost removal service. With years of hit-or-miss cons and a number of temporary solutions to combat the most crippling aspects of his “gift,” Jared finally found a way to live a “normal” life and a way to fit in with society. However, one day, while working a routine job for a rich mark, Jared will be confronted with his own lies and a glimpse of the truth behind the world around him and his abilities. For a Ghost-Free Time, Call is a supernatural thriller written by up and coming Pacific Northwest author Sean Kelly (author of "The Drive Home: A Tale of Bromance and Horror" and co-founder of Emerald Inkwell, A Pacific Northwest Publishing Community) and is the first story in an episodic series brought to you by Emerald Inkwell. Episode one is a FREE and complete short story setting the stage for an otherworldly series taking place all across Eugene, Oregon. Every city has their supernatural annoyances, but that doesn't mean you have to put up with them. Instead, for a ghost free time, just call.

If you already own these episodes, you do not need to purchase this collection. **Winner of Wattpad's: Watty 2014: People's Choice Award for Science-Fiction** 'My name is Arturo Basilides. I am an orphan living in the slums of Medio City – the capital of a nation ravaged by a war which was won by extremists. Offered a choice between slavery and disenfranchisement, we exist in an underclass so disconnected we effectively inhabit a different era. Daily life involves scavenging, theft and substance abuse with a bunch of misfits who are somehow still in one piece after years of abandonment. I am a natural born fighter and although I despise warfare, I must witness the downfall of those bastard elites while fulfilling my romantic intentions with the forever unattainable girl of my dreams.' Skye City is a biopunk adventure set in a world where science is indistinguishable from magic and oppression is near-inescapable. Technology has created a newer, 'superior' form of human and genetically engineered monstrosities are as terrifying as anything encountered in your nightmares. The underclass have been underestimated and as they fight back the boundary between freedom fighter and terrorist becomes increasingly blurred. Meanwhile, the drug-induced haze of a traumatised mind places a question mark over the meaning of reality. 'Skye City: The Rise of an Orphan interweaves heavy social issues and philosophy, milking the sci-fi genre for all its worth. The slum dog's efforts to maintain their humanity in such a heartless age, when everything is going against them is palpable. The 99% versus 1% theme focuses our minds on where society might be heading and forces us to look at things how they are, if we wish them to be truly different.' Dean C. But the Trolls want the Sword, too—and they prepare for a massive invasion that could destroy the kingdoms forever. With its strong atmosphere and complex characters, RISE OF THE DRAGONS is a sweeping, romantic saga of knights and warriors, of kings and lords, of honor and valor, of magic, action, adventure, destiny, sorcery, monsters and dragons. It is a story of love and broken hearts, of deception, of ambition and betrayal. It is fantasy at its finest, inviting us into a world that will live with us forever, one that will appeal to all ages and genders. Book #2 in KINGS AND SORCERERS is also now available! “RISE OF THE DRAGONS succeeds—right from the start…. A superior fantasy…It begins, as it should, with one protagonist's struggles and moves neatly into a wider circle of knights, dragons, magic and monsters, and destiny.…All the trappings of high fantasy are here, from soldiers and battles to confrontations with self….A recommended winner for any who enjoy epic fantasy writing fueled by powerful, believable young adult protagonists.” — Midwest Book Review, D. Rule number one: Don’t piss off the dragon—or Sugar. When Katie Bishop is asked to join an elite Savannah society that guards the city against all the supernatural riffraff that blows into town on a regular basis, she can’t refuse. Especially when the city’s latest threat has targeted her to help it escape from an ancient book it’s been imprisoned in for over a century. You see, Katie isn’t your average girl—she’s a bit of a beast and owns a tattoo shop at the edge of town. She’s also the only one who can tattoo a magical symbol on the demon’s back that will set it permanently free—and live to tell about it.  Trying to run a business and keep her secrets intact, Katie’s life is complicated enough. The easy thing would be to just apply the damn ink and be done with it, but there’s just one problem—the demon plans to open the crossroads and let all hell break loose. If that happens, the city might as well get used to serving a new master. With the help of her best friend, Lady Sugar—the queen of Savannah with hoodoo in her blood, and a coven of eclectic witches, they’ll fight to take back their city. No shrinking violets here. Maybe just a few misfits. Katie Bishop’s clan has plenty of heart and grit, and Sugar will have you rolling! Typical urban fantasy? Not exactly.

On the 12th anniversary of his mother’s disappearance, Zahn hikes to the island summit, only to be awoken by a brilliant object thundering down from the sky, impacting into the beach far below. In a frenzy, he sprints down the mountain, coming across a large crater in the silvery sand. He reaches in, pulling out a triangular plate made of a strange material, moonlight sliding off of it at strange angles. Conflicted over what to do, Zahn hides the fragment in his room for days, knowing that if he brings it to the observatory, they’ll confiscate it, and then he might never learn the truth. Then, in the middle of the night, Zahn is awoken by a tapping at his window. He opens it, and to his shock, it’s a man wearing a silvery uniform. There’s more to what Zahn found on the beach than he could have ever imagined, and he’s swept up into a galactic adventure with a cryptic captain and a living starship. Along the way, he encounters the Vakragha, a species bent on consuming entire stars. And to Zahn’s horror, he learns that they’re heading toward his homeworld. Only the Tulari, a stone that can heal the wounds they cut into space, offers any hope. But saving his world isn’t all he has to worry about. Just when Zahn lands on a moon stolen by the Vakragha, he makes a breakthrough, finally learning his mother’s true fate. Now he is faced with a heartbreaking decision that could either save his world or doom it forever. Praise for The Truth Beyond the Sky :   “Definitely an amazing adventure for all. The descriptive scenes captivate the imagination and one truly feels a part of the story. 5-stars! ” –AudiobookReviewer.com   “ A swift & compelling read. It's fun and I recommend it if you enjoy science fiction epics.” –Michael Coorlim, Author of the classic steampunk series Galvanic Century   “Readers of the Law of One books may find familiar the philosophical thread woven throughout. In my view, that makes this book a rare gem in the genre. I'm not exaggerating when I say that the underlying philosophy of the book, the mythos, shares much in common with the best of metaphysical literature.” –Thomas Minderle, Author of Fringe Knowledge for Beginners   “It was tough to look away. What's really interesting about this book is how multi-layered it is. Zahn's story manages to pull from the world around us, while also incorporating elements of mythology and hero epics. This is a coming of age story of the highest caliber. ” –Jessica Nottingham, Founder of HopelessBibliophile.com   “I was immediately drawn in by the vivid descriptions at the beginning of the story. The author has a knack for fully immersing a reader into the hero's plight, and I felt like I was hurtling through corridors of light alongside Zahn. ” –Erica Lane, Founder of FantasyBookLane.com

Just the way I liked it. That’s what twenty-three years in the magical backwater of Vancouver will get you — a completely skewed sense of reality. When the crime wave peaked in the early 70s, and Nixon signed the Redemption Act, no one bothered to imagine what public execution might look like fifty years in the future. No one imagined that The Tetradome Run would become the most popular show in America. This year's show puts convicted felons in a race with genetically engineered monstrous creations. Murderers, rapists, terrorists, and thieves–they all will take their place at the starting line, and the most notorious among them is Jenna Duvall, the college student who shot a Senator. Allegedly. Jenna swears she's innocent, and as she runs for her life in the Tetradome, a small-town journalist uncovers a shocking counter-narrative that suggests there is more to Jenna's story than anyone knows. A mashup of dystopian thriller and riveting psychological suspense, The Tetradome Run is a novel that doesn't need to look far into the future to find a world gone wrong. Instead, it looks at America right here, right now, and dares the reader to ask a provocative question: What if we already live in dystopia?

It's not often I pre order the next book but I did in this case, there's no way I'm missing what happens next. I'm fascinated by the fact that Paul manages to provide an authentic teenage voice for his prime character all the way through. Looking forward to seeing what comes in the second of the trilogy which I've already pre-ordered, need I say more? Really enjoyed this adventure seen through the eyes of the teenage lead character – his voice was so true and compelling. I'm looking forward to reading the others and would rather like to go and visit the real bunker! Thoroughly enjoyed this as it keeps you intrigued all the way through. Must get on to part 2 now.  I really enjoyed this book and had a hard time putting it down, I can't wait to see what happens next in book two! 5 Stars, I really enjoyed it! … the action is intense and lots of twists and turns abound until the last page is turned. At the conclusion, the reader is left wondering about many events that are still in progress. Wow…… The characters are well defined, plot is fantastic and the ending leaves us waiting for the next part … Most highly recommended.

For Ally Gallagher, death is permanent. If she fails to protect Jesse again, there will be no third attempt. After a quiet year the signs of serious danger have returned. People connected to Jesse are disappearing. Her home is vandalized and threatening messages are turning up in the safest of places. Then Jesse is taken and Ally has only hours to get her back. But no salvation comes without its price. Description of Dying for Her (Book 3) As he counts down the days until he dies, veteran detective James T. Brinkley struggles to keep his imminent death a secret from one of the only people who can save him – Jesse Sullivan, a replacement agent with the rare ability to die, then resurrect. But every replacement is dangerous, leaving Jesse more vulnerable each time. It's his job to protect her and he will do whatever it takes to keep her safe. They are outmatched by the sadist who hunts them and the detective must search his dark past for clues and a way to save their future. However, Brinkley has exhausted his options and buried his closest friends. If he cannot be saved, his only wish is to prepare Jesse for the danger she must face without him.

A mysterious castaway. A Scottish hero determined to protect her. Can they survive the storm? Cast adrift on the Indian Ocean, Maria carries a terrible secret. Wherever she goes, death soon follows, and she's powerless to prevent it. William McGregor boarded the SS Trevessa in search of adventure, but he gets more than he bargained for when he saves the mysterious Maria from the sea. She can't tell them her tragic tale, so the superstitious sailors make up their own stories – and some would sacrifice her to the waves to save themselves from the coming storm. When the sharks start circling and the storm closes in, are sirens more than just a myth? A tiny taste of what's in store: My defiance was futile. What did it get me? A small raft drifting across the Indian Ocean, with nothing but the sound of waves and the smell of salt and coal-smoke. Smoke meant a ship. I was saved. I squinted into the sunlight, but the waves hid the vessel from me. Maybe I was looking the wrong way. I didn't have the strength to sit up and see. Rough hands seized me. I struggled, but my weakness won. Blue eyes drifted above, the same colour as the ocean below. A tangle of wiry seaweed obscured the rest of the man's face. "It's all right, lass. I'll take care of you." Darkness took me first. Turbulence and Triumph The Turbulence and Triumph series is set in the same world as the modern-day Ocean's Gift series, but in the past. Dun Lady's Jess: all woman, all heart…all horse. “Horses, heroics, and magic–a great combination! I thoroughly enjoyed reading Dun Lady’s Jess, a spirited and daring novel. I couldn’t put it down.” –Kristen Britain, author of the Green Rider series Courier mount Dun Lady's Jess accepts the hand of only one man: Carey of Anfeald. Together they race across rugged territories with the spell manuscripts no one else dares to carry, handling secrets with the potential to destroy worlds. That is, until a treacherous wizard rips Lady and Carey apart in mid-run, tossing them across realities and turning Lady into Jess—a woman of fiery equine spirit and unyielding intent. But Jess and Carey weren’t the only ones to tumble between worlds, and they aren’t the only ones looking for a way back. They definitely aren’t the only ones who want that deadly spell manuscript. And ultimately, only Jess—separated from the one person she trusts, flung into a new human form and culture—has the means to bring two worlds together and stop a wizard run amuck. That is, if anyone can… Other books in this series: Barrenlands, Changespell, Changespell Legacy “….Dun Lady’s Jess is unique. Durgin has created a character who is utterly believable as both horse and horse-in-human-body. The setup is brilliant: the magic that causes the transformation is not in the horse, but external, and the creature that is Dun Lady’s Jess must adapt, must find an identity that works in both paradigms. Humans who encounter her, in either body, must also adapt to the reality that created her and that she represents. She cannot be, any longer, just another mare…she cannot be, ever, just another woman….” –Excerpt from Elizabeth Moon’s Forward for Dun Lady’s Jess “A thrill ride with a fantasy twist, neatly done by a knowledgeable author – short, sweet, and paced at a gallop, Dun Lady’s Jess can’t help but to win you over.” –Janny Wurts “Dun Lady’s Jess is a wonderful read for those who are horse fans and those who are just plain fantasy fans or fans of great writing.” –Josepha Sherman, bestselling author/editor “Dun Lady’s Jess is everything a great fantasy ought to be: Exciting, moving, and utterly original. Doranna Durgin has spun a marvelous tale, set it in a world that feels as real as our own, and populated that world with characters who will stay with you long after you read the final page. An excellent book, which I highly recommend.” –David Coe, author of Winds of the Forelands & the LonTobyn Chronicle “Jess is a tale of wonderfully diverse and riveting characters embroiled in extraordinary events, told with a deftness and care few authors can achieve. Once you begin, you won’t be able to put it down until you know what happens — and then you’ll wish it never stopped. I highly recommend it.” –Diana Pharoah Francis, author of Path of Blood “Dun Lady’s Jess is an adventure story with heart. It’s a unique idea, imaginatively explored. The characters are charming, and humanly flawed. The accurate equestrian touches are a pleasure to encounter, and Jess’ reactions, particularly while she’s still getting her feed under her, are surprisingly yet completely believable. Doranna Durgin offers the reader an unusual viewpoint of impressive versimilitude.” –Vonda McIntyre, Nebula and Hugo Award-winning author of The Moon and the Sun “Durgin never fails to entertain with solid characters, good action, well-conceived plots, compelling narrative — and her expert background in horses always provides a real — and realistic! — treat for readers. Jess is one of the most complex and likeable characters in fantasy fiction.” –Jennifer Roberson, author of the Karavans and Sword Dancer series

A supernatural thriller with a vigilante twist. They say suicides are damned for eternity. But if coming back to life in the bodies of violent criminals is Hell, then Dan Jenkins will take it. And he does, every time a portal arrives to whisk him from his ghostly exile in limbo. Dan rides the living like a supernatural jockey, pushing out their consciousness and taking over. They're bad guys, right? Killers and brutes of every sort. He doesn't know where their minds go while he's in charge, and for the most part doesn't care. For three weeks at a time, it's a chance to relax and watch movies, read fantasy novels, and have random conversations with perfect strangers. All for a chance to live again, and maybe make up for the hell he'd put his ex-girlfriend, Sandra, through. Normally, before the villain returns to kick him out, Dan dishes out a final serving of justice and leaves the world a safer place. It's one of the rules if he wants more rides, and he's happy to oblige. For a part-time dead guy, it's a pretty good gig. And then he meets her . Kick is the first book in a series of dark fantasy paranormal thrillers. If you like Quantum Leap and Every Day , you'll love this gritty and original take on the body hijacking hero story. Vividly written, Kick is a wild ride with a sharp sarcastic wit and a flawed yet likable main character. — Interview with the Author: Q – How did you come up with the title? A – "Kick" is what happens when my main character, Dan Jenkins, feels his time in the world of the living is coming to an end. He gets 3 kicks – kind of like seizures – and then there's a 4th he never feels before he's kicked out for good. Q – Is there a message in your novel you want your readers to grasp? A – One of the overarching themes of the book is that, no matter how bad life gets, just open your eyes a little wider. Enjoy the little things. Find love where you can and hold onto it if you can, and let it go if you must. Q – Do you have a specific writing style? A – I admire the writing style of Robert B. Parker and Jim Butcher, both very strong first person narrative styles in that they focus on simple descriptions without a lot of flowery window dressing, excessive metaphors, etc. And the humor – I like the humor. I inject a lot of humor in my books. The other thing I do is try to excite those emotions that pertain to survival: love, food, violence. So I tend to engage those elements quite a bit, finding them both interesting to write and to read.

The War of the Worlds is a science fiction novel by H. G. Wells, first published in 1898. It is the first-person narrative of the adventures of an unnamed protagonist and his brother in Surrey and London as Earth is invaded by Martians. Written between 1895 and 1897, it is one of the earliest stories that detail a conflict between mankind and an extraterrestrial race. The novel is one of the most commented-on works in the science fiction canon. The War of the Worlds has two parts, Book One: The Coming of the Martians and Book Two: The Earth under the Martians. The narrator, a philosophically-inclined author, struggles to return to his wife while seeing the Martians lay waste to southern England. Book One also imparts the experience of his brother, also unnamed, who describes events in the capital and escapes the Martians by boarding a ship near Tillingham, on the Essex coast.

PRAISE FOR PHANTASIA “Many of the passages swept me into the world of the story…. I appreciate how Riyadad weaves psychology and philosophy into the story…. The flow never stops to deliver a message…. The characters were truly impressive. The world itself was fascinating enough, but seeing how it shaped the characters was truly intriguing. My compliments to the author.” -The San Francisco Book Review (5 out of 5 stars) “[Phantasia] is a sprawling fantasy epic mixed with science fiction elements, and a fantastic cast of characters. It echoes shades of Dune and Lord of the Rings, but at the same time is its own story with a unique voice, setting, and plot. The author doesn’t try to hide his use of common tropes, and instead, puts a unique twist on each of them.” -The Tellest “An incredible feat of imagination, comparable to the best the genre has to offer. Phantasia is thought-provoking, dark, creative, and well-written.” -SB Science Fiction Forum “The world building has a sense that leaves it feeling far reaching and a larger part of an incredible and unique universe.” -Amazon Reviews SYNOPSIS  After finding the body of a dragon in a metallic desert, Red finds out that he is the reincarnation of a messiah worshipped by an insectoid alien race bent on invading his star system. Swept into a dangerous adventure across glacial swamps, cloud cities, and dead stars — Red must evade his true purpose in the world, to summon a forsaken deity trapped in another realm.  Travel into a world unlike any other, a world teeming with creatures the size of planets, parasites that can lay waste to entire civilizations, and mysterious energy sources that can decay the lifeforce of stars. What starts as only a whisper in the darkness, grows into a tale of epic proportions.  Phantasia is a future fantasy epic that stands at 180,000 words.

Young Midshipman Ichiro Sato joined the Terran Navy to escape a tyrannical father and find freedom among the stars. He had no idea when he boarded the survey starship Aurora for his first assignment that he and his crew would make humanity’s first contact with a sentient alien species. In an uncharted star system where Aurora’s crew discovers two planets inhabited by a non-human civilization, Aurora is disabled by gigantic alien starships before she can escape. Boarded by nightmarish blue-skinned warriors with claws and fangs, the aliens learn all there is to know about the ship, including all its stored information about humanity, before the crew is slaughtered in a series of ritual combats. Ichiro, the sole survivor, is returned to Earth as a messenger to warn of the aliens’ coming invasion of human space. For that is the Way of the Kreelan Empire, an ancient and dying race that has waged war across the galaxy for a hundred thousand years, slaughtering every sentient species it has encountered in a desperate search for the One, a savior foretold in an ages-old prophecy who can rescue them from looming extinction. For the Kreelans, who will die out in a handful of generations, the conflict with humanity will be The Last War. With Earth leading a fragile coalition of military forces to mount a defense against what many believe is nothing more than a hoax, Ichiro again finds himself at the sharp end of the spear aboard a Terran destroyer. Together with journalist Stephanie Guillaume, Legionnaire Roland Mills, and the irrepressible General James Sparks, Ichiro and the other men and women of the coalition put their lives on the line against an enemy none of them could ever have imagined. "I love you,” he murmured as the wisps of light returned to his body. What he didn’t say was that his love came with a heavy price and life was never going to be the same again. Twenty six year old Ana Martin has a past she is trying to forget. When she meets Gabriel, she believes that she can finally leave her troubles behind her. But Gabriel has a secret… He may look human and be born of this world, but he is from an ancient race of empathic beings known as the Siis, a race that evolved millennia ago to a state of consciousness yet still take solid form to hide among us. When the homeless start dying at an abandoned Tannery, the police chalk it up to suicides. Ana knows different. The Siis have a secret, a past mistake they would rather forget, one that puts Ana in more danger than she can ever comprehend. Before long, she becomes a target for the Fae, once innocent children changed by the Siis thousands of years before. They are able to intensify and feed off the negative emotions of their prey, and are filled with malicious intent that has no bounds. Can Ana survive the world of the Siis? More importantly, can she do it with her mind still intact? Night of the Fae is the first book in the Ana Martin series, which follows Ana as she is drawn into the secret world of the Siis, an ancient race of empathic beings torn apart by war, treachery and the consequences of past actions. The second book in the series, THE HIDDEN LIGHT, is available on Kindle now. Excerpt from book: He crept towards me. A face of an innocent child, but with a smile of a beast, filled with sharpened teeth that glistened in the moonlight. His eyes narrowed. So much malice, so much need for death, not a glimmer of the child he had once been. The engraved dagger glinted in the moonlight, giving the silent promise of pain and torture. His voice cut through the air, harsh with venom, filled with centuries of bitterness, 'You killed Sheah!’ Full review off Shane Dunphy – "Boasting a likable, strongly realized heroine and a world that is at once fantastic and thrilling yet wholly believable, the Ana Martin series is one of those rare reading experiences that just draws you in and won't let you go until the final page is turned. Jenkins's Siis are deftly drawn: fighting, loving and laughing with emotion that leaps from the text, while her Fae are truly chilling: nightmare creations that bring a genuine shiver to the spine. Jenkins crosses genres with a sure touch, compressing mystery, the supernatural, romance and procedural crime into a genuinely compelling narrative. Ana Martin is a name that will certainly go down in the annals of not just fantasy literature, but of classic characters in general, and Lyneal Jenkins is, without doubt, a figure to watch in the world of publishing. Read Ana Martin now and find a universe you will want to return to again and again." Review by Amber . B (Freelance Editor) "Not often do I read a book that makes me feel like I actually became a part of it. When I can feel what the characters are feeling…well that is a book written by someone that can write. This is a book built in the present time, and shows how other "beings" live among us and the dangers that one woman faces as she becomes more involved in their world. The characters are well developed and the story grabs you immediately. It is creepy, emotional, and edgy. The best part? It is something new. I didn't feel like I've read this story before, like I do with many others in this genre. I would definitely recommend this book."

Death is only the beginning… When Gwen Keller arrives in the Cascade Mountains, ready for the long weekend ahead, she knows she's out of her element. She needs time alone, just her and nature,so that she can come to terms with the diagnosis that's looming over her head: Gwen will not live long.  Brandon Scott notices the city slicker the second she sets foot in his neck of the woods and he isn’t pleased. But the longer he studies her from afar, the harder it is to deny she's piqued his interest. Her curves, the short mop of blond hair she tosses with a smile, and the perky pep in her step has him curious about her, if not intrigued. Does she have what it takes to survive in his territory? Would his inner wolf scare her off? Maybe she's the one… But the opportunity slips through his fingers when he finds the lone hiker dead at the bottom of the ravine.  There's only one way to restore her to life and it isn't to make her like him. An ancient favor is called in, and the mysterious woman is saved.
