EXCLUSIVE: Jewelry Maker Jacquie Aiche Launches Men’s Collection

L.A.-based jewelry designer Jacquie Aiche, known for her luxe yet bohemian aesthetic, will release a men’s collection on Oct. 17.
“I feel blessed to work with some of the most creative men, who inspire me endlessly,” said Aiche in a statement to WWD. “Over the past year, the demand for a men’s collection was growing stronger and stronger. These men pushed me to finally launch it.”
Aiche has found success with her line of stackable necklaces, bracelets and rings. She offers goddess-inspired anklets and body jewelry like diamond halter bras or belly chains. There’s a sexy, whimsical feel to her brand, an ease to it all, and yet it’s fine jewelry, made with diamonds, precious stones and, naturally, “healing” crystals; currently on her site, items range from $ 27,500 for a diamond “Elizabeth” necklace to $ 350 for a 14-karat gold ear cuff.

The new men’s line includes necklaces, bracelets, rings and customized Rolex watches.

It’s all handcrafted in L.A., rooted in Beverly Hills at Aiche’s showroom. Those in the know — stylists who borrow pieces for clients or photo shoots and celebrity fans that include Rihanna, Charlize Theron, Gigi and Bella Hadid — frequent the property, a house with a backyard garden

N.Peal Cashmere Creates James Bond-Inspired Collection

From his Tom Ford suits to his Aston Martin cars, James Bond is legendary for his classic, sartorial style. He’s also comfortable in a cashmere sweater, which is where N.Peal comes in.
In “Skyfall,” the 2012 installation of the series, the stylist for the film turned to N.Peal cashmere when she was searching for a lightweight blue sweater that would match the eye color of its star, Daniel Craig. The relationship continued with 2015’s “Spectre” where N.Peal’s cashmere knits were used in that film as well.
The next film, “No Time to Die,” is due out in April, and Adam Holdsworth, the owner and managing director of the U.K.-based N.Peal, is closing to finalizing a deal to become one of the official partners for the film. But while the ink may not be dry on the contract yet, that hasn’t stopped N.Peal from creating N.Peal 007, a cashmere collection that celebrates 50 years of Bond. It will be offered for sale beginning on Oct. 18 on the N.Peal site, at its five stores in London and one in New York, as well as on Farfetch.
The collection features 13 pieces covering the six actors who have played Bond over the past half-century. This

Anne Barge Celebrates 20 Years in Bridal Business, Readies to Launch Little White Dress Collection

NEW YORK – Anne Barge celebrated its 20th anniversary Thursday with a New York fashion show and a one-night retrospective, and creative director Shawne Jacobs is planning for the company’s next chapter.
A graduate of the American Intercontinental University in Atlanta, she joined the company in 2001. In 2012, during a trip to one of the company’s factories in China, Jacobs and her husband learned of Barge’s succession idea. “She saw us really working together as a team. Me working as creative director designing for the brand and my husband running the financial side of it,” Jacobs said.
For Thursday night’s Anne Barge runway show, gowns from the namesake’s archives were reimagined to infuse new elements to some traditional and classic styles. The result led to architectural designs made with Italian Kalika and allover floral Alençon laces for more feminine accents. There were also tulle designs with 3-D textures and metallic floral embroidery. To give brides-to-be more youthful options, the company offered jumpsuits, bustiers and illusion necklines.
Having attended its first bridal market in China in July, the company aims to build sales in China, which is not overflowing with Western bridal designers. In addition, brides in China typically wear four or five different

All Lacoste x Supreme garments feature a SUPREME logo embroidered in various locations, some obvious and others, not so much. And of course, the classic Lacoste crocodile (it’s not an alligator!) is strategically placed somewhere on the garment. All items are unisex, too, so even the ladies can get in on the action.

Be advised Lacoste and Supreme clearly knew this collection was going to go fast. So orders are limited to three items per customer—and multiple customer orders will not be allowed.

The Prince X Sean Wotherspoon Collection Is the Epitome of Laid-Back Cool

The iconic tennis brand Prince is back in a big way, with retro-inspired styles that hearken back to the vibrant 80s. Bold colors, exciting patterns, and a healthy splash of Miami pink and blue are hallmarks of the tennis-inspired line of streetwear. And now, Prince teams with Round Two Vintage founder Sean Wotherspoon for a new line of Prince gear.

The Prince X Sean Wotherspoon Collection takes a vintage aesthetic and modernizes it for an eye-catching limited-edition streetwear capsule, with tennis at its core. The 8-piece capsule consists of inside-out printed tees, crewneck sweatshirts, mesh shorts, sweatpants, and the notorious Prince tracksuit. Performance-driven comfort is the key, and it’s ideal for both on and off the court.

Drawing inspiration from the Memphis Design style of geometric patterns and prints that reigned supreme in ‘80s fashion, Wotherspoon developed signature graphics for the new collection. Remaining true the brand’s roots, check out Sean’s generous use of tennis ball yellow throughout the assortment. The unisex gear is perfect for active individuals with a sense of street style. It’s cozy, comfortable technical apparel that’s as at home on the playing field as South Beach nights.

David Grutman, creative director for Prince, tapped Wotherspoon to bring his unique perspective to the heritage brand. Both Grutman and Wotherspoon have a shared appreciation and respect for retro gear, so it’s no surprise the longtime friends have linked up to bring us this new line.

The Prince X Sean Wotherspoon Collection is available in limited quantities at princeoffcourt.com and at Round Two New York. Prices start at $ 40.

Kurt Cobain Collection Dropping Today

Kurt Cobain may be gone but he’s not forgotten.
The late Nirvana frontman, who took his own life in 1994, was an artist as well as a singer. Today, The End of Music LLC and Live Nation Merchandise will release the Kurt Was Here collection, which is based entirely on Cobain’s artwork.
This lineup of T-shirts and hoodies feature Cobain’s handwritten journal entries, sketches, paintings and drawings. Each item was curated and designed under the creative direction of Frances Bean Cobain, his 27-year-old daughter with Courtney Love.
The collection will be sold at Barneys New York, Selfridges and online. A percentage of the sales from KurtCobainShop.com will be donated to the Jed Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the emotional health and preventing suicide for teens and young adults.
Short-sleeve T-shirts will retail for $ 113, long-sleeves are $ 138 and a hoodie is $ 188.
A coffee table book and limited-edition fine art prints will be offered later this year. And additional product and retailers are expected to be added next year.
A spokesperson from Live Nation explained why this is the right time to create a Kurt Cobain collection.

Jason Wu Collection RTW Spring 2020

“It’s about beauty. I have never been edgy and cool. I don’t know how to do it. I want to do my best version of beauty,” said Jason Wu backstage at his spring show, held at Pier 17 in a postindustrial venue with large windows offering a spectacular view of the Brooklyn Bridge.
Is there anything wrong with wanting to create beautiful clothes? Not at all. Especially when a designer like Wu succeeds in interpreting what is classic, sophisticated and feminine with a fresh, lively touch.
This season, Wu wanted to give a different twist to the idea of beauty he normally conveys with his clothes, which usually have a polished, “perfect” look. So he played with hand-washed fabrics, textures, sun-bleached effects, raw cut edges and intentionally unfinished details to give his elegant creations a lived-in, poetic and intriguing vibe.
The mood of slightly decadent romanticism was inspired by the images of fragile, dried flowers of Wu’s friend, photographer Maxime Poiblanc.
His nocturnal-looking flowers were printed on a washed-silk pencil skirt worn with a coordinated bralette and a lightweight trenchcoat, as well as with an exquisitely draped dress punctuated by tiny crystal embroideries.
Leather was also treated to obtain an imperfect, wrinkled

Surfer Sam Hammer Gears Up for a Day at the Beach With the New Ted Baker Underwear Collection

Professional surfer Sam Hammer has been teaching people to surf and riding waves across the globe for more than two decades. From X-Games competitions to catching swells around his native East Coast, Hammer has certainly stared down his share of jaw-dropping breaks. So Men’s Journal decided to task Hammer with a very different kind of challenge: Grab a board and surf wearing nothing but a pair of boxer briefs from Ted Baker’s new underwear collection.

The 65 Best Surf Spots in the World

Most people would balk at the idea of striding down the beach in their underwear, but Hammer is braver than most. He gladly swapped his board shorts for a set of Ted Baker briefs and headed into the ocean—and he looked damn good, too.

Ted Baker
Alex Palumbo

Even when stripped down to his skivvies, Hammer was the consummate professional. After watching him paddle out and carve up some mellow swells like he was born on a surfboard, we started to wonder if surfing in your underwear, rather than being a challenge, is actually a good idea. Especially since Ted Baker’s new collection contains such high-quality products: Each pair is made from 90 percent modal, an incredibly soft, sustainable fabric derived from beech trees, and 10 percent spandex, so they flex with you as you move.

Ted Baker
Alex Palumbo

Even Hammer was impressed with the underwear, and found they held up well while he was out in the waves. That came as no surprise; these aren’t your average bargain-bin briefs. In addition to being soft and flexible, Ted Baker engineered this underwear to wick moisture, built them with non-chafing flatlock seams, and replaced pesky tags with a soft interior heatseal. That means they’ll keep you comfy when you start to sweat, and they won’t itch or irritate your skin (even when you’re paddling around in the ocean, it turns out). Of course, you don’t have to be a surfer to appreciate those features. Whether you’re hiking, biking, or just going about your work day, these briefs really shine.

Ted Baker
Alex Palumbo

Ted Baker
Alex Palumbo

And who said underwear has to be boring? The new collection comes in a wide range of colors and patterns. There’s a style here for every guy, whether you like your briefs in neutral shades or want to rock something a little more daring.

Ted Baker
Alex Palumbo

OK, so maybe our big challenge for Hammer wasn’t so challenging after all. But that’s because he was kitted out with performance underwear ready for whatever adventures come your way. Wherever you’re going, these Ted Baker boxers will keep you cool, comfortable, and looking good. No question about that.

Henning, a Plus-Size Tailored Collection, Will Be Introduced Online Sept. 3

Lauren Chan, a former plus-size model with Ford Models and a fashion features editor at Glamour, is making the leap into fashion design. She will launch an online plus-size collection called Henning on Sept. 3 on the brand’s web site, henningNYC.com.
Chan has worked on the business for over a year, having started her research in spring 2018. She did the designing herself and conducted focus groups in the beginning to see what people would like to buy.
For the fall launch, she is offering 10 styles in sizes 12 to 24. Fabrics come from the U.S., and everything is made in New York.
“It’s all very men’s wear inspired, which is a personal preference of mine,” said Chan, who herself is now a size 14, having been up to a size 20 in her life. While she has no formal design training, Chan designed the line for Glamour x Lane Bryant and did 10 collections. “That was my first foray into product,” she said.
The Canadian-born Chan was signed to Ford Models’ plus-size division right after she graduated from college. She also did freelance writing and several years later, landed at Glamour. She spent three years there as fashion features editor, and left

The Look Book for Target’s 20th Anniversary Collection Is Here

Target is giving shoppers a peek at its upcoming 20th anniversary collection.
The retailer sent shoppers into a frenzy when it announced it was tapping into its archives and reproducing over 300 items from its past designer collaborations, many of which sold out immediately upon release. Now, the brand has revealed all the styles for the upcoming collection.
On Thursday, Target posted the campaign for the collection on its Instagram account, which shows the designers themselves posing alongside models dressed in their designs.

For That Special Day: Karen Walker Creates Bridal Collection

Just as every bride has a story — or more likely 100 stories — designer Karen Walker wants to be part of that narrative with a new bridal collection.
The Auckland, New Zealand-based designer has created an assortment of wedding-day styles, after years of customers requesting bridal dresses or outfits. Until now, the timing never felt right, Walker said. But that did not deter many from buying various Karen Walker designs to wear for their big day. “But they had never been designed specifically for that intent,” she explained.
Now there are 12 bespoke dresses, four bespoke suits and two off-the-rack dresses “for those wanting to elope,” Walker said. Retail prices range from $ 950 to $ 3,500 and are sold through the new bridal shop in her Auckland boutique and online store. Bespoke shoppers can work directly with her team that includes patternmakers, tailors and other specialists in her atelier or via e-mail, FaceTime or other means. Fittings and creating toiles are all part of the package. Such procedures have been put to use for six international high-profile clients over the past 12 months. That roster included former First Lady Michelle Obama, who needed a suit for her “Becoming” book tour. Walker said,

DKNY, NFL Partner on Sport Collection

The NFL will be celebrating its 100th anniversary this season and DKNY is doing its part to help the league celebrate.
The brand is creating an exclusive DKNY Sport collection for women that will be co-branded with the logos of all 31 teams. The line offers street-style-worthy, feminine looks that were created as an alternative to the loose-fitting jerseys that have become de rigeur among fans.
This collection will offer puffer coats, sneaker dresses, classic leggings and cropped hoodies, all co-branded with the logos of the team.
Beginning in October, the line will be expanded to include sweatshirts, jackets and vests.
Prices range from $ 40 for T-shirts to $ 150 for outerwear.
The DKNY x NFL collection will be available beginning this month at Macy’s, select stadiums and on the DKNY, NFL and Fanatics web sites.
Earlier this year, DKNY offered a similar sports-inspired collection for Major League Baseball. That was part of a push by Fanatics, the largest global retailer of licensed sports merchandise, to focus on more-upscale brands.
The collection comes as a result of a licensing deal between DKNY and the NFL.

Rodarte Presents Eighties-Themed Capsule Collection at L.A. Roller Disco Party

It was an Eighties-themed night seemingly off the set of “Stranger Things” inside Milk Studios on Thursday in Los Angeles, where Rodarte designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy showcased a limited-edition capsule collection.
“We wanted something that spoke to nostalgia a little bit, but also felt of-the-moment,” shared Laura of the event, a collaboration with IMG’s Made and Mastercard.
Neon lights filled the room, which featured a see-now-buy-now Fred Segal Sunset pop-up in the style of a romanticized teenage bedroom. The line of T-shirts, selling for $ 150 each, and sweatshirts for $ 280 — with “Radarte” written across the front — is a collaboration with artist Mari Eastman and sold exclusively at the retail store starting today until Aug. 14.
“Made approached us and said that they were going to do a series of projects where they want you to unite with an artist,” said Laura prior to the presentation, which had models strutting around a makeshift roller-skating rink. “We immediately thought, ‘Oh, this is an amazing opportunity to work with an artist that we admire,’ and we’ve known Mari for years. She’s an amazing painter and professor. Everything was very organic, and it was just a step-by-step process of doing something that was heartfelt

Theia Unveils Couture Collection and Love by Theia at Neiman Marcus

In time for its 10-year anniversary, Theia is launching two new labels: Theia Couture and a more affordable diffusion line called Love by Theia.
The eight styles in the couture line will be sold in 18 Neiman Marcus stores. Theia Couture will be one of three labels — with Teri Jon and Badgley Mischka being the others — that will be housed together starting this month in a new department, according to designer Don O’Neill. The retailer bought approximately 100 units per style, he added.
An unexpected anniversary present arrived via Princess Stephanie’s decision to wear a beaded Theia cocktail gown to her son Louis Ducruet’s wedding to Marie Chevallier in Monaco last weekend. The royal and her stylist Schanel Bakkouche had first scouted out the collection online. The original plan was to collaborate to create something unique, so several dresses were sent to help get the ideas going. As it turned out, a $ 750 pale yellow primrose dress fit like a glove so the decision began and ended there. “She loved the dress. The only thing she did was shorten it a little bit, because she has fabulous legs and wanted to show them off,” O’Neill said. “It has become quite

Wolk Morais Collection 8 Film Uses Old Hollywood Inspiration, New Hollywood Models

“Our favorite look is not here because it’s with Cate Blanchett,” says Brian Wolk during a walk-through of his new Wolk Morais collection designed with Claude Morais, at the duo’s Hollywood bungalow home-studio.
The designers’ love affair with Los Angeles continues with their eighth collection — spring 2020 — debuting in a short film format, and inspired by a mood board full of old Hollywood screen and wardrobe test images starring Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Sharon Tate, Marlon Brando and more.
“We’ve been using Los Angeles as our muse, backdrop and scenic inspiration and we felt it was time to speak the language of the city,” says Wolk, referencing previous collections, one shown at Hollywood’s historic Yamashiro Japanese restaurant, another inspired by California’s mid-century “California Cool” art movement, another by its private school-going “teenage bourgeoisie.” “Also, it was really fun to cast…we got to call all of our crazy eccentric friends and get them to participate,” he said of the short film’s lineup of Lydia Hearst, Moon Unit Zappa, Aimee Garcia, Rebecca Walker, Monica Abanonu and more.
While many may associate Los Angeles fashion with streetwear or rock ‘n’ roll, the Wolk Morais designers have been zeroing in on tailoring as a specialty,

Rodarte Teaming With Made for Capsule Collection, L.A. Party

Rodarte is throwing a summer party with the Bangles’ Susanna Hoffs on Aug. 1 in Los Angeles.
The Eighties-themed concert bash is being held in collaboration with Made and Mastercard to celebrate a new capsule collection of “Radarte” pieces incorporating artwork by Los Angeles-based painter Mari Eastman, which will be sold at L.A.’s Fred Segal beginning Aug. 2. The event is expected to draw 300 guests, including friends of Kate and Laura Mulleavy, models, celebrities and fashion notables from the Endeavor agency roster. (The designers are represented by the talent agency, which also owns Made.)
“We are so excited to make these T-shirts and sweatshirts featuring artwork by artist Mari Eastman. We are such fans of her body of work,” the Mulleavys said in a statement of the capsule, which will also incorporate blockchain technology developed by Mastercard.
“Mastercard is happy to be a part of this collaboration. We will address the 94 percent of supply chain leaders who think digital transformation will fundamentally change supply chains for the better with the unveiling of a technology that will help consumers explore the journey of the product and shop with confidence,” said a company statement from Mastercard.

Andbox Unveils Collection Designed by Public School’s Maxwell Osborne

Public School’s Maxwell Osborne has a new game — creative director of consumer products for Andbox, the multifranchise esports organization.
Launched two months ago by Sterling VC, Andbox owns and operates the Overwatch League team NYXL and the professional New York Call of Duty team. It hosts local gaming events and other experiences in the five boroughs. Sterling VC’s parent company, Sterling Equities, is the principal owner of the New York Mets, as well as the SportsNet New York network.
Osborne isn’t giving up his day job, but understanding the world of gaming took some exploring. A year in the making, the project came together through Andbox’s vice president of consumer products and merchandising Collete Gangemi, whom Osborne got to know 14-plus years ago. With 300 million active gamers worldwide, Andbox is keen to tap into that market with “something that is more fashionable than just a gaming T-shirt that has a juvenile graphic around their favorite game. That’s really what most gaming apparel is right now,” she said. “There is a massive market opportunity with a huge consumer base of fans of e-sports and set regular games that did not have an apparel brand to really grasp onto, unlike with action

Taco Bell Is Making a Sunglasses Collection

Taco lovers can now take their obsession to the next level — with Taco Bell sunglasses.
The American fast-food chain is teaming with Diff Charitable Eyewear for a capsule collection launching Friday that takes inspiration from many signature elements from Taco Bell, including its signature bell logo and its packets of hot sauce.
The five-piece collection offers kitschy updates on Diff Eyewear’s most popular styles, like the brand’s Luka visor-like style, which features the word “hot” branded over each lens. The style is also in an ombré yellow to red color scheme and includes a flame motif on the frame.
Also included are versions of the brand’s Sawyer style, including reading glasses that have cartoonish illustrations of tacos and hot sauce packets on its translucent frame and a black-frame version with the orange flame design seen throughout the collection.
The collaboration will be available on Diff Eyewear’s web site and at The Bell Hotel, Taco Bell’s upcoming, limited-time resort in Palm Springs, Calif., opening in August. Purchases of the styles will come with taco-shaped cases and a cleaning cloth that resembles a hot sauce packet.
The collection includes sunglasses, reading glasses and blue light glasses and retails for $ 85 to $ 95. As part of Diff

The Prince x David Grutman Collection nods to both the culture of tennis and the fun-loving, active lifestyle that has made Miami one of the hottest fashion destinations of the last few years. Grutman, founder of famous Miami hotspots such as LIV at the Fontainebleu Miami Beach, Story, and Bar Bevy], is the new Creative Director of the renowned tennis company.

Grutman has been called one of “The 50 Most Influential People in EDM” by Rolling Stone. This new collection showcases the electrifying South Beach spirit of the nightlife impresario. The collection blends classic athleisure silhouettes with the vibrant color palette of Miami—a vintage look that never goes out of style.

But don’t let the stylish flair detract you from the fact that this is serious performance apparel. It moves with you, works hard when you do, and to take your game to the next hot level.

The 20-piece lifestyle capsule consists of polo shirts, crewneck sweatshirts, shorts, and tees as well as accessories like caps and sweatbands. Also available as part of the collection is the famed nylon tracksuit – a tennis sideline staple. Delivering two styles, an all-black track suit featuring art deco inspired line embellishments, and a color-popped version with the classic Miami hues of aqua and fuchsia. Grutman’s EDM influence is apparent throughout the collection, which currently features both unisex and women’s-specific styles.

We expect to see this collection everywhere this summer. The new Prince x David Grutman Collection is available now at princeoffcourt.com.

Allbirds Takes Flight with Limited Edition, First-ever Patterned Collection

Allbirds already makes what most consider to be the world’s most comfortable shoes. Where does the trailblazing brand go from here? Today, Allbirds breaks the mold again by releasing its first-ever patterned shoes. This limited edition collection of Houndstooth, ZigZag, and Polkadot Tree Toppers won’t be in stores until July 16, but we scored an exclusive early link, so you can get yours right now by clicking here.

These. Are. Awesome.

If you’re thinking these high tops won’t be wearable until fall, think again. Allbirds Pattern Collection Tree Toppers are made using a proprietary mesh knit textile from sustainably harvested eucalyptus tree pulp. So they’re breathable and silky-smooth, even in the summer heat. Naturally-derived and renewable, it’s much friendlier to the environment than traditional shoe material.

Even the laces are environmentally sound. They’re made of 100 percent post-consumer recycled polyester; basically, one old plastic bottle becomes one pair of durable, sleek shoelaces. The design weave takes its cue from nautical rope, and the bio-based material that forms the eyelets is tougher and more resilient than plastic.

Wanna go sockless? No problem. The plush insoles are lined with merino wool fabric for natural softness. And wool has legendary moisture-wicking and odor reduction. The cushioned footbed is derived from castor bean oil, which also cuts carbon output when compared to petroleum-based foam.

Born from Brazilian sugarcane, SweetFoam is the world’s first carbon negative green EVA. The outsole’s contours provide bouncy comfort that’s light on your feet as well as the planet.

Best of all, Allbirds shoes are completely machine washable—and the price point on these is no higher than the rest of the Tree Topper line ($ 115).

Where Can You Get Them?

The shoes are currently available via Instagram, and you can head there to learn more. For now, the three limited-edition Allbirds Patterned Collection is available only in the high-top Tree Topper style, and just in a black/grey colorway. But if they’re a hit, who knows what the future holds? Take a look at each of the three Patterned Tree Toppers below, and pick yours up today before they’re all gone.

The funky ZigZag pattern is complemented by a black sole, which makes these the perfect city trekker.

What You Need to Know About Scott Eastwood’s New Made Here Collection

Scott Eastwood is stepping into some new territory. After starring in big films like Pacific Rim: Uprising and The Fate of the Furious over the last couple years, the actor is launching a new style collection, Made Here, which will have products that are inspired by the American worker.

Cover Story: Scott Eastwood on ‘Pacific Rim Uprising’ and Living an Adventurous Life

So what exactly is Made Here about? While you’ll have to wait to see, the upcoming new line will include shirts, boxers, socks, hats and other accessories for both men and women. The idea behind the brand is that everything will be made in the United States and also will “celebrate the American worker” through its designs. Eastwood has partnered with entrepreneur Dane Chapin for the new collection.

“For hundreds of years, ‘American-made’ has been synonymous with high quality,” said Eastwood in a press release. “It’s all the hard-working folks across the country that make our brand possible. I want to honor the iconic heritage of American manufacturing and let people know it’s very much alive and well. The essence of Made Here is really very simple: it’s to celebrate the excellence of the American worker.”

While Eastwood has been hard at work on launching Made Here, he hasn’t slowed down in his acting career. Eastwood has multiple projects coming up, including the Afghanistan war drama The Outpost with Orlando Bloom, and the crime thriller The Manuscript, where he’ll star alongside Oscar winner Jamie Foxx for director Nick Cassavettes.

Scott Eastwood on Flying Helicopters and His Favorite Adventures in the United States

While you wait for the Made Here launch, you can read up on Eastwood’s previous cover story, where he told us about the time he took a road trip through the Skeleton Coast in Namibia, the time he almost crashed in a helicopter on a snowboarding trip in the Canadian Rockies, and the time he was held down by a massive wave in Australia. Yeah, Eastwood knows how to have an adventure.

The collection is set to launch in August 2019 and customers can get a head start by signing up on the Made Here website to get 10-percent off on launch day. See more at the Made Here site.

It’s just after Tamuna Ingorokva’s highly anticipated show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tbilisi, and I’m sitting cozily on a bench with the designer and stylist Ketevan Gvaramadze. Ingorovka has just shown a refreshing series of stellar tailored looks—silk high-waisted trousers, sliced-and-diced car-wash skirts, and wispy, paneled slip dresses—and it was a hit with showgoers. The room we’re in is decked out with promotional goods; rows of attendees tote designer bags and teeter past in vertiginous heels. The whole idea of Fashion Week, no matter where you are, is always symbolic of luxury. But this room, radiating with heat and saturated with artificial light, is a blazing reminder that in this part of the world, electricity itself was once a luxury, often out of reach even for those in fashion. Living in a perpetually crisis-ridden Georgia has been a struggle for its citizens—and Gvaramadze and Ingorokva can attest to that. The two women grew up in the tumultuous Caucasus country, first under the rule of the Soviet Union, then during the Georgian Civil War between 1991 and 1993, and through the late ’90s when the country was struck with an energy shortage. During that period, people would go for hours to days without electricity—and when they did have power, it was sporadic.

Gvaramadze and Ingorokva met as children through their mothers, who are both doctors and best friends. They lost touch in the late 1990s: Gvaramadze left Georgia at 18 in 1999 after her grandfather, father, and boyfriend died. “I was extremely sad, and it was that time that we had no lights. It was a black, dead city, like a black hole,” says Gvaramadze. “I couldn’t do anything in my country.” Once she arrived in the United States, she applied for political asylum as a refugee and found work as a nanny and as a Georgian-to-Russian translator. “It was such a better life here than back home,” she says. “I ended up staying and never going back.”

Meanwhile, back home, Ingorokva studied fashion at Esmod in Munich and later at Esmod in Paris in 1999. In 2002, she showed her first collection, Spring 2003, in Tbilisi. During this period, Georgia was still experiencing an energy crisis. “We had vodka backstage so the girls wouldn’t freeze,” says Ingorokva. “It was in an old, old, rundown theater. We had oil heaters everywhere. In my atelier, we were working with oil heaters because the lighting was out there, too.” Despite failing circuits, the collection was a success: It was shown on FashionTV and, eventually, Ingorokva opened a store in Tbilisi.

Back stateside, Gvaramadze had begun waitressing at venues like the fashion industry–frequented Giorgione as well as the Gansevoort Hotel. It was at Giorgione where she became acquainted with David Bonnouvrier, founder of DNA Models, and his then-wife Siobhan Bonnouvrier, the fashion director of Allure. “One day the hotel was having a party for Allure and I was working it,” says Gvaramadze. “I saw Siobhan and she was like, ‘What are you doing here?’ And I completely joked, ‘Do you want to hire me?’” The next week at Giorgione, Gvaramadze received a call from Bonnouvrier asking her to come on set. “That was it,” she says. In 2006, Gvardazme started working as an assistant at Allure (“I would come in Converse and T-shirts”), where she would also meet the magazine’s creative director, Paul Cavaco, and eventually she was promoted to associate fashion editor, all the while still working as a waitress at the Boom Boom Room. “I didn’t even know who Anna Wintour was!” she admits. “My mom is a doctor and my dad was a landscape architect—putting clothes together wasn’t even a job and I had zero clue,” she says. “But they [Cavaco and Bonnouvrier] trained me. I don’t know why these two were so good to me and so patient with me. They taught me everything.” In 2009, Gvaramadze left her position at Allure and her gig at the Boom Boom Room to become a freelance stylist. Among the many magazines Gvaramadze now works with is Vogue, for which she styles on a regular basis.

Fast-forward a couple years more to 2011: After 12 years of not being allowed to travel back to Georgia due to the immigration process, Gvaramadze was finally able to return. There, she reconnected with Ingorovka. “For 12 years we weren’t communicating,” says Gvaramadze. “But when we started again, it was natural. Very organic.” They continued to keep in touch, mostly through a texting app. When Ingorovka was designing her latest collection, Gvaramadze would advise and make suggestions via WhatsApp. “I always had something to say!” says Gvaramadze.

Ingorokva showed that collection at Tranoï in New York, linking up again with Gvaramadze, and attracting the attention of a PR firm, whose owner liked the clothes so much he asked to keep them in the showroom. When the designer returned home to Georgia, she was invited to participate in Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tbilisi, but her pieces were thousands of miles away in New York. But that’s what friends are for: Gvaramadze, whose shoot had just been canceled, hopped on the next plane with Ingorokva’s collection and styled the show. On top of that, Ingorokva was able to book the world-famous Georgian classical musician Nikoloz Rachveli at the last minute to play a live concert with his orchestra in place of a standard runway soundtrack. “It all came together in the end!” she says.

It’s a few days after the show, and Ingorokva and I are sitting in a farm-to-table–style Georgian restaurant adorned with pretty lamps. By this time, Gvaramadze has flown back to the U.S. and is emailing me that she is going straight from the plane to One World Trade Center to style a shoot for Vogue. I relay the message to Ingorokva—we’ve just been discussing the likely prospect of her coming to New York to show her collection next season. Suddenly, the room goes dark. “It’s the ’90s again!” Ingorokva jokes. But the bulbs flicker back on, dousing the room with yellow rays, and we laugh. Turns out there is a light at the end of the tunnel after all.

Daniel Bohbot’s Hale Bob Collection Elevates LA Fashion Week

Daniel Bohbot premiered his Hale Bob 2016 spring/summer collection earning rave reviews in what is earning its place as a fashion capital — Los Angeles. His women’s line was breaking at the seams with multihued prints evoking the lifestyle of Beverly Hills’ well-traveled and well-sunned elite. Both beautiful and practical, he utilized cotton and silk, his fabric of choice, to design garments to be worn comfortably during Los Angeles’ sweltering summers. He is a genuine artist and the king of prints.

I have always been attracted to artists, and especially to artwork and special design. We started working with different studios around the world. I bought prints of artwork and hung certain elements to make it a Hale Bob print.

This season’s prints were based on everything from Moroccan tiles, jungle leaves, tropical florals, animal prints, boho-chic, paisley scarves and ornamental medallions.

Putting out an astonishing 12 lines a year, Hale Bob is always adjusting to the aspirations of its consumers, providing them not with what they want but with what they never knew they needed.

Hale Bob was conceived in 2001 as a result of what Bohbot perceived to be a gap in the LA fashion women’s market. Dominated by jeans, he saw a need for tops to compliment them. For the first five years, this was his exclusive focus.

The line expanded in 2006 to produce dresses, bottoms, shoes, swimwear, bags, scarves, and luggage. Continuing its evolution, he will begin offering a full line of accessories comprised of bags, suitcases and shoes in 2016. Also in the works are scented candles and a fragrance. In the future, he plans to release a men’s line.

The epitome of a globalized citizen, Bohbot was born in Morocco, trained in France, and now lives in Los Angeles. He started off his career in fashion importing American lines into France. One of the fashion lines, Bisou Bisou, belonged to his brother Marc Bohbot and sister-in-law Michele Bohbot.

All hand-beading and fabric treatments are done in Bohbot’s Los Angeles studio with each garment displaying its own unique, made-in-America style but inspired by the world heritage.

Hale Bob, available at Bloomingdales, has become the go-to choice for celebrities Amal Clooney, Sofia Vergara, Eva Longoria, Heidi Klum, Cameron Diaz, Salma Hayek, Halle Berry and Cindy Crawford.

Hale Bob’s Daniel Bohbot Celebrates New Collection, Home

BOHO VIBES: Guests sipped cocktails and meandered through the airy residence of Daniel Bohbot Thursday evening.
The designer showed the spring and summer collections for his Hale Bob and Liberty Garden labels at his home in Beverly Hills, of which he just recently took up residence. The combined events — a new collections and a new home — seemed worthy of a celebration.
“It’s good now that I am moved into my new house,” Bohbot told WWD ahead of the fashion show. “I want to celebrate with all my friends.”
Bohbot’s two lines, Hale Bob and the younger brand Liberty Garden both drew inspiration from Seventies boho chic for spring and summer, Bohbot said. Hale Bob featured the ethnic and specialty prints the line has come to be known for. Meanwhile the Liberty Garden collection didn’t stray from its use of natural fibers and faux leathers.
“In general business is very good because it’s a niche,” Bohbot said of Hale Bob. “We have this woman who has been following us now for more than 10 years so we really have a connection between us and the consumer.”
Liberty Garden, aimed at 20- to 35-year-olds, has done well since its debut about a year ago and

The Dreamy, Chic Bridal Collection Made for It Brits and Boho Babes Alike

stonefox bride

Listen up, all you single ladies (and those about to put a ring on it): Savannah Miller has just launched a bridal collection for Stone Fox Bride. Which means if you’re not exactly the tulle-ball-gown-at-the-country-club-type bride, your dreams of silk, ease, and everlasting chic are now that much closer to becoming a reality.

Miller is no stranger to weddings or, for that matter, designing an easy-yet-flattering shape. Having established with equally chic sister Sienna (yes, that Sienna Miller, patient zero of the mid-’00s boho street style movement; star of screens big and small) the contemporary line Twenty8Twelve, she went on to do a solo collection of elevated basics. This new collaboration is her official entrée into wedding dresses, though it’s worth noting that she’s not exactly a novice—she did design her own. Seen it? Google “Savannah Miller wedding dress” and you’ll find an image of her on an English moor in procession with an unspeakably photogenic family, clad in a silk velvet gown with a hood (be still, all your bride-to-be hearts out there!). This same image was espied by one Molly Guy of Stone Fox Bride, who did what you do with all visual depictions of one’s own personal #goals—she Instagrammed it. Miller double-tapped, DMs were exchanged, and the rest is very modern history. “We started that conversation about 18 months ago, and started developing the collection in April this year,” Miller told Vogue.com over the phone, during a chat that ranged from the topic of her own wedding to the larger implications of modern love (more about that in a minute).

Though her wedding dress is beautiful in any setting, it makes even more sense in her personal context—take note, autumn knot-tie-ers. “I had this sort of merry, abundant, feasty type of wedding, with banquet tables heaving with plums and grapes and apples, and candelabra with wax drippings on the tables. Reindeer skins over the benches—very much a medieval banquet vibe,” says Miller. It may sound extravagant, but just look how wholly at ease she looks doing it. “My main thing is the bride feeling comfortable and great on her wedding day and having that effortless elegance,” Miller says, and she invoked that old style truism of clothes not wearing the person, the person wearing the clothes—one that’s never more axiomatic than upon one’s nuptials.

One particular design from the new collaboration, a silky style with lace sleeves, was inspired by a brushed cotton caftan Miller wore to her civil service, with the fabrication lightened up and the lacy bits added for a little sex appeal. What did stick around: the total comfort of the thing. “It’s an incredibly flattering line—to have the gathering in the center front means that the woman can be relaxed and comfortable, and it really draws the waist in,” Miller notes.

stonefox bride

Expand

Photo: Courtesy of Stone Fox Bridge / Frances Tulk-Hart

And that silk and velvet hooded cloak number that played such a large role in her life can be yours, too—she’s made an homage to her own much-Pinterest-pinned wedding dress (and perhaps the seminal piece in the whole collection) for Stone Fox Bride, with whose owner she has total, natural synergy. “Really, [Molly Guy and I] are very similar in our approach to the way things should look, and we just get on really well—she’s like a sister now,” says Miller. “I was originally drawn to Stone Fox Bride because the aesthetic felt very much at one with my own. I’ve always dreamed of making wedding dresses, and this is absolutely how I imagined they’d be, and the setting—it’s a perfect fit for me.”

Plus, Miller brings an undeniably British edge in all the right places—a combination of out-in-the-country charm and to-the-manner-born splendor. One’s thoughts often turn more continental (ahem, look to the French Girls Do It Better school of thought) when looking for effortless, everyday chic, but where bridal ease and casual sybaritism are involved, the Brits do it best (think: Kate Moss in John Galliano). “I think that whimsical bohemian thing, and the way English people do it, is something [Stone Fox Bride] has always aspired to, because of the Old World-y and Guinevere vibe—it’s all very English,” says Miller. “So it has brought something new, but it isn’t a radical departure.” But there’s no trace of Renaissance fair here. Miller and Guy shared more contemporary common inspiration in the ’70s and early ’20s, too, so it’s not all cone hats and corsets. “Our points of reference really are the same,” explains Miller, “our interpretations of them will obviously be different.”

stonefox bride

Expand

Photo: Courtesy of Stone Fox Bridge / Frances Tulk-Hart

For Miller, wedding chic and interpersonal honesty go hand-in-jewel-topped-hand: “You have these delusions as children of marriage and the wedding day, and that it’s about the dress and flowers and everything. I think as humans in relationships, these days everything is a lot more honest. I think the more honest we can all be every day, the better. And I think those weddings where people are themselves but a little polished—there’s something so beautiful about the rawness of that. And I really love the honestly of that kind of experience when I go to a wedding and it’s real, and these people have been through it and they’re committing to each other. It’s a really interesting time in the world generally, not just from a fashion perspective. Relationships are much more a growing process rather than this perfect cutout picture of wedded bliss.” Hear that, Pinterest? Gone are the days of the bride having always to adopt the virginal princess stance. These wedding dresses are for the woman in full bloom, in the prime of her adulthood, which, let’s face it, comes a good deal later.

And as to the future of the Savannah Miller–Stone Fox Bride partnership? If you don’t have any nuptials on the horizon (or even serious prospects) just yet and feel markedly silly earmarking a dress in advance, don’t worry: “We’re already plotting and scheming about our next moves,” Miller reassures. “There will be more additions soon.”

San Francisco’s Art Crowd Toasts Gucci Collection

Lionhead pendants, lacy see-through tops, gold pleated skirts and romantic floral embroideries comprised the dress code at Gucci’s San Francisco bash, held Tuesday evening at hot spot Octavia. The Vogue-hosted event paid homage to new creative director Alessandro Michele. Among the guests were artist Stevie Howell, Carolyn Chang, Sabrina Buell, Anne V., Lauren Ford and Kaitlyn Trigger.
“I’m crushing on this new fun and feminine version of Gucci because it offers romance and it’s a reminder of softer times,” said architect Abigail Turin as she twirled in her pleated gold skirt black top, brooch and her grandmother’s black taffeta evening clutch, all Gucci. “These pieces are so versatile. I could wear this gold skirt with a T-shirt to a beach party.”
Art dealer Jessica Silverman, a host for the evening, found her personal style in a new navy jacket with white piping and narrow jeans. “The art world is so exciting now and every day is intense so I love to dive into the world of fashion,” said Silverman, whose Tenderloin gallery and emerging artists are favorites of Silicon Valley art collectors. “Fashion is fantasy.”

H&M Unveils Capsule Collection by Ximon Lee

PARIS — Hennes & Mauritz AB on Thursday unveiled an eight-piece capsule collection by Ximon Lee, the first men’s wear designer to win the Swedish high street retailer’s annual Design Award.
In line with the growing trend of genderless clothing, Lee envisions the outfits being worn by both men and women. The line is to go on sale in select H&M stores and online on Oct. 22.
Known for extreme silhouettes, Lee used bonded fabrics to create items like a heavy twill denim jacket and a pair of wide shorts. He said translating his concept pieces, which incorporate materials like cardboard and plastic, into a commercial line with H&M was a long process.
“When I started working on the collection with them, they were very open to my opinions. I’m very particular in terms of the color, the material and even when it comes to snaps and zippers, I didn’t want to sacrifice any ideas that I began with. The production went really smoothly,” Lee told WWD.
The designer, who is based in New York City and graduated from Parsons The New School for Design last year, plans to show his first full collection in a show or presentation format during men’s fashion week in

Fetty Wap Launches His Own Young & Reckless Collection [Photos]

Barring any sort of miraculous resurgence from Drake and Future or the Frozen soundtrack, Fetty Wap and his self-titled debut are poised for a top spot on the Billboard 200.

PacSun and the Young & Reckless clothing company are capitalizing off the moment and releasing the new “Still Runnin’ Pack” with the king of the “trap queens.” The new nine-piece assortment of tees, jerseys, hoodies and crews was inspired by the New Jersey Trap&B star himself.

“Fetty is the natural choice to represent the “Still Runnin’” pack, Young & Reckless says of their new brand ambassador. “He’s been on the move since we met him and months later there’s still no sign of slowing down. If we’ve learned anything
from Fetty, when you’re on top you should be working just as hard as you were when you were grinding in the early days. That’s the true key to lasting success.”

Daniela Villegas Previews Spring 2016 Jewelry Collection

Entering Daniela Villegas’ Hollywood studio is like being in a curio box of sorts. There’s a wall of colorful butterflies, beetles and bugs mounted in glass boxes, and tiny quail and fish skeletons pieced together on wooden stands. These items are often the basis for her fine jewelry collection, which sells on Net-a-porter and in stores like Roseark for $ 1,875 to $ 39,000. Her “Backyard” collection, inspired by insects, incorporates real iridescent beetle heads with matching precious stones, and her “Rebirth” collection features tiny 18-karat gold animal skeletons with moving parts and gemstone eyes made from lost wax molds that are hand-carved in her downtown Los Angeles workshop.

For spring 2016, which she will show in Paris from Saturday through Tuesday, Villegas created more baubles on these themes, such as tiny, rose gold ants atop a tourmaline cabochon that looks like a cake on a lacy gold doily. Other items she pulls out of her red leather case include rainbow sapphire trapeze earrings and large carved pendants on delicate body chains. Her next collection will include pieces inspired by her recent trip to Peru. She toyed with some native woven bracelets that she plans to recreate with precious stones. “I’m always picking things up along the way,” she said. “My husband [furniture designer Sami Hayek] jokes that our

Gaultier Hits Tokyo to Launch Japan Apparel Collection

Jean Paul Gaultier held court at the French embassy in Tokyo on Wednesday to launch his collection for Japanese retail giant Seven & i Holdings. The project is Gaultier’s first fashion foray outside couture since he discontinued his own pret-a-porter line last year.
The designer said he was overwhelmed by the work involved in producing luxury ready-to-wear and the need to churn out several collections a year.
“I wanted to concentrate on what I like. What do I like? To make couture. To make pret-a-porter also, but not like the way it is now, because now you have to make pre-collection, cruise, all that, you know, which is a lot a lot of demand. And it doesn’t really stop…which is not good, because we have no time to think,” Gaultier told a press conference. “So I prefer to be free of that, and to make some capsules and some experiences and some new adventures that give me more freedom. And in that way I feel more free and more energetic and a little more excited.”
The line, called Jean Paul Gaultier for Sept Premieres, goes on sale Wednesday online and at Seibu and Sogo department stores and Ito Yokado general stores across Japan.

The Row, Oliver Peoples Link for Eyewear Collection

The Row and Oliver Peoples have linked up for a new eyewear collection that will debut during the clothing label’s Paris Fashion Week presentation.
The six styles, which will come in both optical and sunglass options, will be available in stores beginning in January. The collection will be labeled The Row x Oliver Peoples.
The frames are feminine reinterpretations of long-time Oliver Peoples designs, including the O’Malley style, which will be renamed O’Malley NYC and which marks the first time the Los Angeles-based eyewear company has allowed an outside designer to adopt the frame. The sunglass options all feature custom mineral-glass color lenses unique to The Row’s collection.
“Oliver Peoples is singularly focused on eyewear and in this sense they are experts in the category,” said Ashley Olsen, adding the tie-up will help the sisters’ brand move their eyewear to the next level.
“We felt optical was just as important as sun,” added Mary-Kate Olsen, who said that was why they chose to adapt the O’Malley style.
The frames, which range from $ 350 to $ 600 at retail, incorporate key Oliver Peoples signatures such as wire ridges and discreetly placed logo plaques.

Hannah craves excitement, but all local adventures dried up long ago, when her parents unpacked their wagon on the Michigan frontier. Then war breaks out and her father and brother leave to fight the Confederacy. Hannah is left at home chafing under the boredom of never-ending chores–until unscrupulous speculators set their sights on the unmanned farm. The one place she longs to leave suddenly becomes the one place she'll risk everything to save. The Divided Decade Collection includes three stand alone stories that view the American Civil War through three different lenses. All are set within Michigan. The Candle Star features the Underground Railroad. Blood of Pioneers illustrates the trials faced on the rural homefront after the menfolk leave for war. And Beneath the Slashings is set within a Northern lumber camp filled with returning soldiers. The books can be read out of order or read alone, depending on the theme that most interests the reader (or most closely relates to a classroom curriculum). All three have been highly acclaimed by teachers and home schoolers. Each has lesson plans and additional resources available.

Erdem Puts His Green Thumb to Work in Livia Firth Collection

LONDON — Erdem Moralioglu has become the latest designer to take up Livia Firth’s annual Green Carpet Challenge, and the fruit of his labor will be revealed Monday at the Wallace Collection in London.
The designer has created 12 styles — a combination of gowns, day and cocktail dresses — made from lace from his own archives; silks produced by organically farmed worms, or fabrics made from recycled fibers or plastic bottles.
The collection will go on display in a previously shut room at the Wallace Collection, the grand, historic town house that houses Old Master paintings, armor, and French 18th century furniture and porcelain. Erdem said the setting was an inspiration for the collection.
“From the very beginning I found the Wallace Collection itself so inspiring: It has the largest collection of Marie Antoinette’s furniture outside of France and I love the idea of there was so much chinoiserie and all of these amazing damasks,” said the designer.
“Knowing where the collection was going to be shown, I was really inspired by that idea and by creating something that felt really beautiful and timeless.” The designer said his priority was that the collection had “a real human hand, and feels very glamorous and

Calvin Klein Collection RTW Spring 2016

The morning after. Francisco Costa titled his spring Calvin Klein Collection to conjure the intimate daze of undone sensuality captured in moments of deconstructed purity and grunge glamour.
The show was beautiful with a caveat: One of Costa’s main propositions was the oversize slipdress, loosely constructed to fall from the body with exaggerated soft cups. Phoebe Philo put a similar idea on her unforgettable fall runway for Céline last season. While Costa’s versions were different, more clinical and edgy with their poetically crude apron constructions and flap details, the connection was ready and waiting to be made. Costa has rights to the slipdress, a constant in his own oeuvre and an item native to the house he helms, but at the very least he should’ve put a few more seasons between his and Philo’s artfully deflated cups.
Moving on. The collection was divided between slick modernizations of two Nineties megatrends — neo-grunge and stark street minimalism — that are particularly relevant now amid the current Nineties renaissance. Fluid slips, camisoles, wide trousers and trenches came in shades of stark white and porcelain with deliberately large yet gentle proportions. To decorate, Costa slashed, traced seams in rough-hewn stitching, and left garments trailing with

London Designer Katie Eary Teams With KFC on Capsule Collection

PLAYING CHICKEN: KFC has recruited edgy London men’s wear designer Katie Eary in its mission to demonstrate how much can be done in a lunch hour.
As part of the fast food brand’s #PackMoreIntoLunch campaign, KFC challenged Eary to create a capsule women’s wear collection for spring 2016 in 60 minutes.
On the day of the challenge, 25 machinists sewed like crazy to create 13 looks, worn by 10 models in a catwalk show at the Old Truman Brewery in London.
The collection, like the playful and irreverent men’s wear Eary is known for, was brightly colored, with a palette rooted in fluorescent orange and green.
Butterflies were the print motif, superimposed over hypersized KFC chickens — it shouldn’t have worked but it did. Floaty silk chiffon minidresses and cropped tops came with a lovely ostrich feather trim in neon green.
A red bias-cut slipdress that reached just above the ankles managed to be sexy and sophisticated, while the twist-front swimsuits had definite commercial appeal.
Of course, some preparations had been made. The collection had been finalized two weeks before: All the patterns had been made, and almost everything had been pre-cut for the 60-minute sew-a-thon.
There was a rawness to some looks that probably wasn’t intentional,

London Knit Label Loma Previews Spring Collection

LOMA’S KNITS BRANCH OUT: London knitwear label Loma, which is showing its spring 2016 collection at Coterie this weekend, already counts Nordstrom, Ron Herman and Neiman Marcus among its U.S. stockists, and will launch in Saks Fifth Avenue in October.
Now founder Lorna Masters, who started the label in 2012, plans to expand closer to her home turf. “When I started the range I was living in Australia and that’s why it resonated so well, especially in California, because the lifestyles are very similar,” said Masters, a Royal College of Art graduate who designed for Nicole Farhi and French Connection before starting her own label. “California is a great market for knitwear because they don’t wear coats.”
The label has recently launched at The Shop at Bluebird and Harvey Nichols in London, and Masters said that now the label plans to expand into the U.K. and Europe, having recently appointed a German sales agent, U. Schramm-Badenhop. She will also present the collection during Tranoi in Paris in October, and is considering a presentation in London.
The label is focused on fine cashmere knits, in what Masters called “architectural” shapes. “I’ve always liked the idea of a bohemian look but done in a very

Zoë Kravitz on Her Red Carpet Transformation, Calvin Klein Collection, and the Fashion Advice She Learned From Her Parents

Zoe Kravitz Calvin Klein spring 2016

With the heavy metal remix of Nina Simone’s “I’m Feeling Fine” whaling overhead at today’s Calvin Klein Collection show, where Francisco Costa’s throng of ’90s redux models slithered by in bias-cut slip dresses, oversized dusters, and elevated club-kid flatforms, the vibe of the Spring collection spoke to one chicly dressed woman on the front row in particular.

Zoë Kravitz, the actress, musician, and rock ’n’ roll offspring of Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet, who quietly smoldered backstage in a steely floor-length satin gown from Klein’s Resort 2015 collection before the show, has been playing with a similar sense cool in her red carpet wardrobe of late.

Wearing only a smattering of minimalist jewelry and tattoos to accent her look, Kravitz is still able to make a big statement, a less-is-more design credo that aligns the brand and star in an unexpected way. It’s true, the tumble of waist-length braids she haphazardly scraped off her face to reveal her shaved head is a nice counterpoint to the languid gown. “People like to say that I have an ‘eclectic’ look, but there is a simplicity behind all of it,” Kravitz explains. “A white T-shirt is my favorite thing in my closet and I love the sleekness of Calvin Klein. When I think of Calvin Klein, I think Kate Moss in the ’90s, which was so effortless and beautiful.”

Photo: Getty Images

Her stylist Andrew Mukamal who has been working with the actress for two years now, pipes up, declaring that the duo rarely do fashion events, but the connection between Kravitz and Klein felt right. “Today’s look is a pretty major moment. I knew she was wearing it the minute we confirmed she was coming to this. The look has that kind of ease that I think she has and Calvin has,” he says.

Kravitz concedes that working with Mukamal has helped elevate her look considerably, and given her style direction beyond her off-duty uniform of chunky UNIF black ankle platform booties and all black. “Fashion for me is all about inspiration, so if I feel inspired by something in the moment, I’ll just throw something really strange on. And Andrew really helped me have a thought out idea of what I want to represent when it comes to style and fashion.” As they beamed at one another, she laughed, “You’ve helped me evolve into a lady!”

The actress can also thank her style-icon parents for passing along plenty of invaluable fashion advice, and her mom and dad’s distinctive early ’90s bohemian style still resonates today. “They’ve always been so confident. They wore certain clothes way before they were considered cool, and I think that’s what gave me the confidence to be okay with making mistakes, making an ass of myself,” she says. “When it comes to fashion, that’s what makes you progressive.”

Karl Lagerfeld Unveils First Kids Collection

CHILD’S PLAY: Kids and grown-ups munched on cotton candy and Karl Lagerfeld-stamped marshmallows at an event to present the new Karl Kids collection on Wednesday at Karl Lagerfeld’s headquarters in Paris.
Workshops for kids included one to make a key chain in the shape of Karl Lagerfeld’s profile and a pattern coloring workshop where kids could dress a Karl Lagerfeld figurine.
Lagerfeld’s fashions are now offered for boys and girls from newborn up to 16 years old, along with a range of accessories including black gloves, a black tie and a Choupette headband, named after Lagerfeld’s pet cat.
The feline also appears as the whiskered logo festooned on the clothes.
Lagerfeld’s signature kids’ wear collection is set for spring 2016 retailing, with France’s Groupe CWF having the global license.
Selected pieces will be available at children’s e-retailer Melijoe in December before the full collection rolls out to multibrand stores and department stores internationally in January.
French actress Céline Sallette came with her 6-year-old daughter Alice. “She wants to decide what she wears now,” Sallette uttered with a sigh, while browsing the collection.

Why You Should be Paying Attention to Serena Williams’s Fashion Collection

Photo: HSN

Photo: HSN

You know Serena Williams as the 21 Grand Slam–winning tennis star, whose fierceness on the court is only rivaled by her kindness off it. But there’s another passion Williams has been quietly pursuing for years: fashion design. Williams is no ordinary celebrity-turned-designer. Consider her boundary-pushing court style, her two years of fashion school, and her experience designing her own collections at HSN and Nike. It was with HSN that she presented a Spring 2016 collection at New York Fashion Week earlier today, to an audience including Anna Wintour, Gigi Hadid, Lily Aldridge, and her rumored paramour, Drake.

“I’ve always loved fashion. I was always that girl that played with my dolls, and I went to fashion school, so it’s not just made up for me. It’s actually something that I really enjoy and that I have a lot of fun with,” Williams told Vogue.com backstage before her show. Though she’s shown her HSN collection at Fashion Week once before, her latest collection bears her influence to a greater extent. Not only did she work closely with Guillaume Poupart, chief merchandising officer of Tiger J LLC, on each item, but she also sketched and designed the finale dress, a backless black number trimmed in fringe. “I love seeing something on paper and then seeing it in real life,” she said, motioning toward the piece. “Each time, even when I do it with Nike, I still get chills.”

Williams called the collection “a little bit retro, romantic, and extremely innovative.” The fringed suede jackets and dresses are decidedly more posh than your typical HSN fare, and the shearling pieces are expected to retail at a luxury price point. “I want [my customers] to feel empowered. I want them to feel beautiful. The collection works on every size person. You should [be able] to look good and feel good and love who you are and, at the same time, be stylish. We want our ladies to be stylish, too,” she smiled.

Cynthia Steffe Launches C.S. Roberts Collection

Cynthia Steffe is making another comeback.
The designer, who previously built a $ 30 million-plus wholesale business selling her contemporary line to stores such as Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus, is getting back into the contemporary sportswear game with a new collection called C.S. Roberts.
Steffe, who lost the rights to her name to Bernard Chaus Inc. which still manufactures the Cynthia Steffe line, is married to Rick Roberts and will use his last name in the new venture. Steffe continues to be known as Cynthia Steffe personally and professionally.
The collection, which launches for spring, is novelty-driven. “It’s very much what my signature has always been. It’s soft and colorful and probably where I would have taken the Cynthia Steffe collection,” said Steffe in an interview in New York. There’s a large emphasis on dresses and blouses, as well as bottoms to work with them. “It’s lifestyle-driven and has an ease to it,” she said.
Steffe said her core customer is a woman 35 to 50 years old who loves fashion, doesn’t work and likes to shop. She is targeting department and specialty stores with the line and will show the collection to buyers next week and at Coterie this month.

Ellen DeGeneres Talks Plans for Men’s Wear and Furniture for ED Collection

Ellen DeGeneres was very much having a when-worlds-collide moment Thursday night at Bergdorf Goodman as fans bought copies of her new book “Home” and fashion types pieced through her ED collection.
During the course of the night, which included a private dinner, Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, Justin Timberlake and Pharrell Williams were among the other Ellen admirers who filed through the 57th Street store. Appropriately, Friday Pink debuted a new theme song on DeGeneres’ talk show — “Today’s the Day.”
“It’s like a brand new year that I’m kicking into because I’ve been a comedian, I’ve been an actress. I’m a talk show host — that’s easy for me. I can do that in my sleep. This is a whole new challenge. It’s exciting and I’m learning a lot.” DeGeneres said. “As far as managing my time, I love clothing, and I love design, and I love houses. And I love fashion. So it’s not really an effort, it’s more fun.”
Standing beside her wife Portia de Rossi, DeGeneres said getting into fashion was even more of an undertaking than expected. “For sure, because it’s also going to be much bigger than I ever imagined. We just did this deal with Camuto [Group]

Inspired by Givenchy’s Spring 2016 Collection, Italian Actresses in Slips

givenchy muses

Riccardo Tisci, who was educated in London, lives in Paris, and parties all over the world, made his New York Fashion Week debut tonight with a collection for Givenchy that obliquely referenced his Italian roots. To the strains of “Ave Maria,” and a handful of other religiously tinged songs, the designer sent out a secular collection full of lingerie details (and men in skirts) rendered in an ecclesiastical palette of black and white. Tisci transformed the slip, which not only came out from under, but, paired with trousers, was designed to see the light of day. Inspired by the collection, here are ten Italian actresses, from Cinecittà star Silvana Mangano to Tisci muse Mariacarla Boscono (she made her theater debut in NYC in 2006), who have slipped into something more comfortable.

Matsuda Tests Retail, Unveils Sun Collection With Pop-up in Wittmore

STAGING A COMEBACK: A pop-up that’s one part gallery retrospective and another part commerce from Japanese eyewear brand Matsuda has opened at men’s wear boutique Wittmore.
The 40-year-old Matsuda brand, originally started in Japan with men’s and women’s wear, was relaunched about three-and-a-half years ago with the optical business and more recently began its expansion into sunglasses.
Matsuda’s pop-up, at the front of the Wittmore store entrance facing Santa Fe Avenue in the Arts District of downtown Los Angeles, is the company’s first endeavor into retail in 15 years and its first showing of the sunglass offering. It’s also Wittmore’s first time partnering with a sunglasses brand.
The sun collection features materials such as titanium and 24-carat gold along with details such as hand-engraved filigrees and adjustable nose pads. Pairs range at retail from $ 380 to $ 1,500.
The company’s headquarters, now in Santa Monica, where chief executive officer James Kisgen is also based, made Wittmore’s Arts District store a suitable location, he said.
“I love the idea of doing it here in this up-and-coming area,” Kisgen said. “We obviously have very close ties to the arts.”
The location at Wittmore also made sense because of its unique merchandising mix, according to Kisgen.

Ralph Lauren Corp. Teams With Periscope to Livestream Collection Show

NEW YORK — In what will be a digital first for fashion, Ralph Lauren Corp. is partnering with the live-streaming app Periscope to livestream the Ralph Lauren Collection show to the heart of London.
Just as models are stepping onto the runway in Manhattan at Skylight Clarkson Sq, thousands of Londoners passing through Piccadilly Circus will simultaneously be able to catch every last spring 2016 look on a nearby screen before the designer takes his final bow. Beyond the editors, celebrities and influencers in New York, and the more unsuspecting U.K. crowd, Ralph Lauren will be tapping into Periscope’s base of more than 10 million users.
This will be the company’s latest in a series of high-tech initiatives that have included a holographic 4-D fashion show on Central Park’s reservoir, interactive shoppable windows, e-commerce and most recently the introduction of the PoloTech smartshirt, which features sensors that read the wearer’s biological and physiological information.
In the days leading up to the show, the company plans to tease the event on the sides of the Piccadilly Circus screen with tweets from the Ralph Lauren account, and a countdown clock of sorts. Should they be motivated to shop, Ralph Lauren’s Bond Street store is about a 10-minute walk from

Basta Surf Teams With Photographer Gray Malin on Resort Collection

SURF’S UP: Basta Surf will soon tout wearable art for an upcoming resort collection.
The swimwear company is set to deliver in November a collection in collaboration with photographer Gray Malin, known for his images of dreamy beach scenes. The collection fuses prints used from Malin’s photographs onto Basta Surf swimwear.
Malin and Basta Surf founders Emily Ford and Samantha August pored over Malin’s image collection and ultimately narrowed it down to prints that were blown up to create patterns for the collection. One was shot in Australia overlooking the beach on New Year’s Day and captured a giant wave rolling through. The other print was shot in Lisbon and captures beachgoers, picking up the bright colors from the clothing and umbrellas dotting the landscape.
“One really celebrates the water and one really celebrates the beach,” Malin said.
The collection, in which everything is reversible, consists of nine pieces. A one-piece swimsuit will retail for $ 218, two-pieces for $ 235 and a halter jumper with neon tassels is $ 398.
The line will be carried in Barney’s, Shopbop and Neiman Marcus, among other retailers.
“We both clearly have a love of travel and that’s executed so beautifully with this product and the quality is what we both do

Roksanda Marks 10 Years with Capsule Collection

Roksanda Turns 10: Roksanda Ilincic’s Roksanda label marks its 10th anniversary this year, and the London-based designer has dipped back into her archive to celebrate the milestone.
The designer has this week launched a 10-piece capsule collection that’s inspired by Ilincic’s back catalogue of designs — which make a feature of bold colors and strong silhouettes — over the past 10 years.
The looks include the Margot dress that Ilincic first showed in spring 2012, a shift dress with tuliplike sleeves, which she’s redone in tomato red and a voluminous, tiered smock dress, which originally came in deep purple, but is now in black.
Ilincic said looking back at her archive, she believes that “as a designer you evolve and change season to season.” “Culture has changed and the economic situation has changed,” Ilincic mused, noting that all those influences impact her aesthetic.
And while Ilincic launched her line on the London Fashion Week schedule for spring 2006 with “12 occasion dresses,” the line now comprises looks that her woman can wear “seven days a week,” the designer said. Alongside ready-to-wear, the label also includes a children’s collection, Blossom, and swimwear, while looking ahead she has categories such as handbags and fine jewelry in her

Neymar Jr Tapped for Replay Ad Campaign, Capsule Collection

Replay has chosen Neymar Jr as the new face of the brand.
The Italian denim company and the soccer star, who plays in the Barcellona F.C. team and is the captain of the Brazilian national team, signed a partnership contract valid through August 2018.
Neymar Jr won’t only appear in Replay’s new ad campaign but he will also design a special collection, to be called “NJR,” for the label. Replay already provides the FC Barcelona team with the official off-field uniforms and shoes.
“When Matteo [Matteo Sinigaglia, Replay chief executive officer] offered me the chance to take part in this project, I immediately agreed to represent a brand which reflects my style,” said Neymar Jr.
“I’m very happy to link our brand to such a talent as Neymar, who is not just an incredible champion, but also a legend, able to enchant crowds with his energy, passion and determination,” Sinigaglia said. “These are the values which have always driven Replay. And it’s this shared vision which made this collaboration possible.”
Replay is controlled by Fashion Box, which operates in 50 countries distributing the Replay, Replay & Sons and We Are Replay collections in 3,000 points of sales in the world, as well as in 200 retail stores.

Olsens to Show The Row Spring Collection in Paris

New York already has one major fashion show incoming from Paris this season with Givenchy; now Paris has one coming from New York.
The Row has moved off the New York calendar and onto the Paris schedule. No other details, including date, time, location or reason, could be learned, as a spokesperson for Ashley’s and Mary-Kate Olsen’s company declined to give specifics at this time.
But this has happened once before. Five years ago for the spring 2011 season, the Olsens cancelled their New York show, and ultimately popped up on the Paris schedule due to sample delays.
Since launching The Row in 2006, the Olsens have built it into a formidable business with 164 points of distribution in 37 countries with industry insiders estimating $ 50 million in annual sales. Along the way, the sisters have transformed their reputation from former child stars to legitimate aesthetes and serious designers with more than one CFDA Award under their belts.
They’ve also become closely associated with New York, where the company is headquartered and where they proudly produce nearly all of their collection. They have become champions for local production and craftsmanship, participating in the Barneys Made in New York collection, which is in stores now.
