Run Me My Money!: Lauryn Hill Sued Cousin Over Unpaid Loan

2019 Sonoma Harvest Music Festival Weekend 1

Source: Tim Mosenfelder / Getty

Lauryn Hill may have had issues with tardiness and the IRS, but when it comes to a loan she gave a close relative-she expects her money on time.

According to The Blast (editor’s note: this was first reported last year by Bossip), Lauryn Hill is suing her cousin, Gerald Hill, over an unpaid loan that the singer loaned him in 2017. Court documents show that Lauryn Hill loaned her cousin $ 65,000 interest-free as long as the loan was repaid in full by September 2017. The contract drafted by Hill at the time states that failure to pay would result in an added 10% simple annual interest until the loan was settled.

Despite the reasonable terms, the “Doo-Wop” singer claimed that her cousin has yet to pay back anything on the loan and headed to court in June of this year, accusing Gerald Hill of breach of contract and sued him for $ 65,000 plus attorney fees.

“Defendant did not repay any portion of the loan on or before September 15, 2017, triggering the interest rate provision of the Loan Agreement. Furthermore, despite demand for repayment, to date Defendant has not repaid any of the $ 65,000 principal due and owing under the loan agreement or any of the interest amounts that became due and owing following Defendant’s non-payment.”

Although served, Gerald Hill was a no show at court leading the judge to decide in favor of Lauryn, granting her a default judgement in August. The court order read:

“Judgment is hereby entered in favor of Plaintiff and against Defendant in the amount of $ 72,886.62 consisting of $ 71,228.95 in damages, including contractual interest, attorneys’ fees in the amount of $ 1,401 and costs in the amount of $ 256.67.”

Even with a default judgement, Lauryn Hill was forced to head back to court after her cousin continued to refuse to make a payment. On October 22, the “Ex-Factor” singer submitted subpoenas requesting the court to review Gerald Hill’s finances, assets and income to assist with repayment. Hill also is petitioning the judge to demand that Gerald produce statements and show up to court.

As of press time, the case is ongoing.

Lil Wayne Claims Cash Money Owes Money To Drake, Nicki Minaj & Tyga

(AllHipHop News) The legal saga between Lil Wayne and Birdman’s Cash Money Records takes another turn. Wayne has reportedly filed new legal documents suggesting his longtime label also owes Young Money artists Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Tyga money.

[ALSO READ: Birdman Talks Lil Wayne Wanting To Leave Cash Money & Reports He Tried To Have Wayne Killed (VIDEO)]

TMZ reports:

Lil Wayne now claims in his bitter lawsuit against Birdman and Cash Money, he has letters from Drake and Tyga’s people claiming they got stiffed out of a fortune. And Nicki’s people say in a separate letter her producers also got shortchanged by Young Money, and Wayne says it’s Cash Money’s responsibility to pay producers.

Earlier this year, Wayne sued Cash Money for unpaid royalties and album advances. Wayne’s Young Money imprint was named as a plaintiff in the case as well. YM wants CMR to pay for the cost of legal actions from artists asserting they are owed money by the company.

According to the original documents, a “2009 Drake Letter Amendment” was agreed upon to give YM one-third of the net profits from the sale of Drake’s solo recordings. The suit also revealed Wayne and Cash Money agreed to a 51%-49% split over Wayne’s Young Money imprint.

Wayne has publicly demanded to be let out of his contract with Cash Money. Young Money’s Tyga has also been vocal about not receiving payments from Birdman’s company. In addition, other individuals in the industry such as TurkBangladeshJas Prince, and Wendy Day have filed lawsuits against CMR for unpaid services.

According to TMZ, Cash Money argues Wayne and Young Money are the ones in breach of contract. The label claims YM was supposed to produce 21 albums over 7 years and only 13 projects were released.

If Wayne and Young Money are able to split from CMR, Birdman has made it clear he will not let platinum-selling acts Drake and Nicki Minaj go with Weezy so easily. The two stars reportedly have distribution deals with Cash Money, and in 2013 Birdman told DJ Whoo Kid, “Drake down with the team for life. He made that commitment when we did another situation.”

While his self-titled debut album was released a few days ago, Fetty Wap decides to give the visual treatment to a freestyle he dropped weeks ago.

Turk Wrote A Screenplay For A Movie About His Life & Cash Money Records (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) N.W.A got the feature film treatment with Straight Outta Compton. Could the Hot Boys of Cash Money Records be next? One member has already penned the story for a potential movie about his life.

Mikkey Halsted Shares His Cash Money Horror Stories, Including Birdman’s Cheapness

Chicago rap fixture Mikkey Halsted unfortunately helps make up the alumni of artists who did a stint on Cash Money Records without ever dropping an album.

In a recent interview with DJBooth.net, he shared his vivid memories of being on the label which pretty much summed up plenty of the reasons why the Birdman and his operation keep attracting lawsuits.

Here’s just a sample:

On Birdman Demanding McDonald’s Receipts

“I’ve seen Baby [Birdman] over there with $ 50,000-$ 100,000 spread out on the bed and people that’s in his own family are asking him to give them McDonald’s money. He would give somebody $ 10 and ask for change back. So, that’s the kind of person he was. It was just a lot of bad business man, that I’ve seen done and you know, it’s only so far as I can talk about it…until I get my money.”

On the Money Cash Money Owes Him

“I feel I’m owed probably a half a million dollars right now. After I saw what happened after Kanye got his money [Mikkey had to fight to get Kanye paid] I should have tried to get off the label. But I always had hope. I left over 75 songs [with Cash Money] because back then they didn’t just give you the music. It wasn’t like we were using email. We couldn’t hear it. None of this shit [the music I recorded] ever saw the light of day.

I also can’t help but think about all the stories about Cash Money that still haven’t been told. In the early days of the label there was no Twitter, no Reddit, no TMZ, no DJBooth to document the disputes between Birdman and artists. What stories haven’t been told? Official was essentially erased from history, who else has been erased? Something tells me I’m only just beginning to scratch the surface…

Read the rest of the Mikkey Halsted Cash Money horror stories over at DJBooth.net.

Talib Kweli Unleashes Free F**k The Money Album

Talib Kweli has been active of late with the release of a project last month titled Train Of Thought: Lost Lyrics, Rare Releases & Beautiful B-Sides Vol. 1. The Brooklyn bomber unleashed yet another project over the weekend, F**k The Money, and this time for the low price of nothing at all.

As reported by Billboard, Talib Kweli tweeted out details of the new record early Saturday morning, which was quite the surprise for fans of the rapper. According to Kweli, a whopping 1 million people downloaded the project, and he joked with his followers about their rabid consumption.

“Yall love free sh*t. A MILLION of Yall downloaded my free album #f*ckthemoney at http://kweliclub.com  Yall ain’t sh*t jk,” tweeted Kweli.

Kweli explained the impetus behind the release of the album after an appearance on Real Time With Bill Maher.

“People don’t buy music, they’d rather stream and pay money to streaming companies,” Kweli said, during the Overtime section with Maher. “It’s convenient. As horrible as it is, it’s my responsibility to do something about it.

Kweli, who has released free projects in times past, has taken on the role as a champion for working musical artists in a climate that isn’t financially kind to those on the independent or underground circuit.

At the top of the year, Kweli talked about his decision to leave the major label structure and focus on his Javotti Media company and label via a column entry with Medium.

The F**k The Money album can be found on Kweli’s website, kweliclub.com.

Hit the jump for the tracklist.

Statik Selektah “Murder Game,” Soulja Boy “Money Gang,” & More | Daily Visuals 7.16.15

At a time when these young’ns are running wild and ruthless in the Hip-Hop game, it’s good to see some OG’s step up and speak into the mic… about getting wild and ruthless, but with poise. Statik Selektah recruits Young M.A. and OG’s Smif-N-Wessun and Buckshot to kick those Brooklyn bully bars on “Murder Game” and remind those wannabe rude boy pranksters it’s never a good idea to test the wrong dread or a man with a Tyson-style tattoo on his face for that matter.

Speaking of ideas that aren’t good these days, Soulja Boy links up with Reese Money Bagz to shoot a home video for “Money Gang” which features lots of jewels, money & cars – basically everything that got stolen from Chris Brown’s home after he did something similar.

Check the rest of today’s releases which include work from Scarr, Lil Reese, and more.

An Open Letter to Cinderella: How to Divorce Prince Charming And Keep Some Money

Dear Cinderella,

You might be surprised that I’m writing you this letter, considering that you are one of the world’s most prominent examples of a happy marriage. But, as a seasoned divorce attorney, I’ve learned to spot the ones whose marriages are on the way out–and frankly, Cinderella, I’ve seen that look in your eye.

You probably don’t want to admit it. You’re probably thinking, If I get a divorce from Prince Charming, will I be letting the world down? Will I be disillusioning thousands, nay millions of little girls whose dreams of finding fairy tale romance hinge on my prime example? Cinderella, we can only hope.

With this in mind, I’m going to advise you now as if you had wandered into my office, impractical shoes and all, asking “How do I divorce Prince Charming?”

Lesson One: Get a prenup.

I’m not going to sugar-coat this, Cinderella: You, like most ill-advised Disney princesses, have been operating under the assumption that a Prince will make you happy. I’m guessing based on the fact that you were roughly 16 when you got married, and that your decision to marry was doubtless driven by a desire to escape a life of indentured servitude, you were probably more focused on the door than you were on arranging a prenup.

I mean, let’s be blunt here: Prince Charming has substantial assets, and this was probably part of the attraction. But, as you’ll find out in the process of divorcing him, the Prince’s assets–his royal inheritance etc.–are what we in the divorce business call “pre-marital assets.” In other words, you can’t touch them. Thus, like so many women before and after you, you were in a financially disadvantaged position at the start of the marriage and thought it would be rude to ask for a prenup, and now at the end of the marriage here you are in a financially disadvantaged position once again.

I know, it’s unfair. Considering how you’ve spent your life looking after Prince Charming and your royal children, how you’ve smiled and waved when you were supposed to, fulfilled your responsibilities (even indulging his fantasies of having you dress up like a house wench and tickle his feet with your feather-duster)–even with all that, now you’ve been left in a position where you probably can’t touch his royal monies. Such is the law–it’s a prenup or nothing, for you.

Lesson Two: Commingle your assets.

Considering your lack of a prenup, my advice to you now is to secure some assets for yourself by “commingling.” In effect, commingling assets means mixing joint money, or your personal accounts (for example, what you get from renting your father’s house to those wicked stepsisters of yours) with your husband’s inherited money (the palace bank account). The idea is to make it difficult for Prince Charming’s lawyers to show clear separation of accounts in the court, therefore making a case that the money from said accounts should be split down the middle.

In short: open a joint bank account. Make big financial outlays (country house, jewels, angel investment in a Talking Mouse Circus) using mixed monies. Avoid making big joint purchases from your husband’s inherited funds whenever possible, because you won’t have any claim to those in the divorce. And so on.

Contrary to the widespread belief among legendary damsels in distress, marrying royalty isn’t generally all it’s cracked up to be. Without a prenup, frankly it doesn’t matter that you caught him in three different broom closets with three different scullery maids last year; his pre-marital assets are still likely to stay with him.

Cinderella, you understand the complications of the fairy tale marriage; you, more than anyone, know what it really means to live “happily ever after.” I urge you to take that knowledge, along with your glass slippers and your wits, to the bank.

Respectfully,

James J. Sexton

Zea, The Ohio Girl Who Stood Up To A Homophobic Preacher, Raises Money For LGBT Youth

Zea Bowling, the Ohio girl who became an Internet sensation last week when she calmly and quietly waved a rainbow flag as a homophobic preacher screamed at her, is using her newfound fame to make a difference.

An image of Zea (pronounced “Zay-uh”) was turned into a T-shirt by a local artist, and in a video released on Monday, the 7-year-old said she would donate half the funds from sales of the shirt to the Kaleidoscope Youth Center, an LGBTQ youth community center in Columbus.

“I want to donate money from my T-shirts to help kids have fun and be safe,” Zea said in a video released on Monday.

Following the Supreme Court’s landmark ruling legalizing same-sex marriage in all 50 states, Zea attended a local arts and music festival with her family. As happened across the country, the event became an impromptu celebration of the decision, and Zea was waving a rainbow flag when the preacher approached and began yelling at her through a microphone.

Instead of backing down, Zea waved her flag in an image that quickly went viral across social media:

#lovewon #mykid #zeabowling #comfest2015 #happycomfest

A photo posted by Ryan Bowling (@bowling.ryan) on

Ryan Bowling, Zea’s dad, told The Huffington Post via email that she isn’t really conscious of her sudden fame.

“Thankfully, Zea is not on social media, and she doesn’t watch the news, so that has helped to shield her from much of the buzz,” Bowling said. “That having been said, at play-dates, the first thing her friends have said to her has been ‘Zea, I saw you on TV last night!'”

As for Zea’s distinctive name, Bowling said they were looking for something unique and pretty.

“We didn’t want her to ever be mistaken for anybody but herself,” he said.

There’s little chance of that happening now.

Young Money Rapper Flow Arrested & Charged With 2nd-Degree Murder

The day of judgement grows near for Widner Degruy, better known to the general public as the Young Money rapper Flow. The 23-year-old New Orleans citizen has been ducking law enforcement since Memorial Day after he and his accomplice, Jonathan Evans, were accused of killing two brothers, Kendred and Kendrick “Muddycupbuddy” Bishop.

NOLA is reporting that Degruy was booked and charged with two counts of second-degree murder yesterday, Wednesday (July 1) in Baton Rouge. Evans was arrested for the same charges on Saturday, June 27.

“Mr. Degruy stated he attempted to call the police; however the screen to his phone was cracked,” the arrest warrant stated. “Mr. Degruy became angry and slammed his phone to the ground. After becoming angry, Mr. Degruy leaves his phone and relocate(s) to his residence …”

Degruy was also questioned shortly after the shootings but police still let him go despite the “inconsistent statements” regarding his whereabouts the time the Bishop brothers were gunned down.

At the tail end of 2014, Degruy made his national debut alongside Young Money el captain Lil Wayne on the song “Off Day,” that was once considered for Tha Carter V album. His next entry into the media was this here shooting.

Life comes at you fast when you don’t control the pace. Also, there’s this Instagram post that could sway both sides of the case.

How Smart Are You With Money? 7 Steps To Get Your Finances In Order

More than one third of adults admit they spend more than they can afford, and it’s been estimated that 70 percent of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck. Are you one of them?

“You cannot be in denial about finances,” Dr. Phil says. “It doesn’t matter what you think you deserve, what you think you need, even, and certainly doesn’t matter what you want or desire. When you’re dealing with finances, you’ve got to deal with reality.”

If you worry about surviving tough financial times, take these quizzes to evaluate your spending habits. Then, consider these seven steps to get your finances in order so you don’t find yourself broke.*

Are You a Financial Train Wreck?
Answer true or false to the following statements:

  • I will neglect bills to make an impulse or luxury purchase.

  • I will make a purchase based on my perceived need, desire, or what I feel I deserve, instead of what I can afford.

  • I buy items out of guilt for my children, whether or not I can afford them.

  • I buy name-brand goods because of the emotional feeling.

  • I sometimes finance toys for myself — boats, RVs, four-wheelers — or vacations.

  • I use borrowed money, such as credit cards, to make payments on items I have already financed.

  • I charge basic living expenses: mortgage, car note, student loan, tax bill.

  • I buy things based on monthly payments instead of actual cost.

  • I lack a budget or plan based on my financial reality, and lie to myself or spouse about expenditures.

  • When I’m stressed out, anxious or celebrating, I spend money I don’t have.

If you answered true to any of these, you have an unhealthy spending habit. If you answered true to five or more, based on statistics, you are headed for serious financial troubles.

How Smart Are You With Your Money?
Answer yes or no to the following questions:

  • Are you living on borrowed money or credit cards to cover living expenses, and fail to pay off the balances at the end of the month?

  • Are you a double-income family that requires both incomes to maintain your lifestyle?

  • Will your health insurance cover you if you suffer a significant or catastrophic illness?

  • Do you have enough savings to cover your expenses in the event of a layoff or injury?

  • Do your monthly expenses exceed your stable net income?

  • Do your total housing payments, long-term debts and major fixed expenses exceed 60 percent of your income?

  • Are you accruing tax debt by not making timely deposits, because you are spending more than your net income?

If you answered yes to more than three of these questions, it is time to reevaluate your spending habits. Don’t live in fiction — know now and make the corrections so you don’t have a money crisis.

7 Steps To Get Your Finances In Order
1. Always set aside at least 10 percent of your income for savings and investing, using the payroll deduction method.
2. Always contribute the maximum amount of money to employer-sponsored pension plans, in order to get the maximum contribution from your employer every year.
3. Always use manufacturer’s and retailer’s coupons when possible, and send in for rebates.
4. Always look over sale flyers and comparison shop before spending money, especially on food.
5. Always comparison shop motor vehicle and household insurance policies when they come up for renewal.
6. Always pay credit and charge card purchases in full when the statement arrives, and never pay interest charges or penalty fees of any type.
7. Always keep banking and other receipts, even for smaller purchases, and note the details of the purchase on the receipt.

* This information in this article is provided for your consideration and information only. You should always consult with financial professional before making any significant financial decisions.

Franklin Graham Moves Money Out of Wells Fargo Bank Because Of ‘Moral Decay’

Franklin Graham is calling on Christians everywhere to boycott LGBT-friendly companies after Wells Fargo bank released an ad that clashed with his personal beliefs.

On Friday the prominent evangelist announced that the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA), of which he is president and CEO, is moving its accounts from Wells Fargo to another bank due to the bank’s recent ad featuring a lesbian couple.

Graham also posted on Facebook, encouraging Christians to use their spending power to take a stand against LGBT-friendly companies. “Tiffany’s started advertising wedding rings for gay couples. Wells Fargo bank is using a same-sex couple in their advertising. And there are more. But it has dawned on me that we don’t have to do business with them,” the evangelist wrote.

Have you ever asked yourself–how can we fight the tide of moral decay that is being crammed down our throats by big…

Posted by Franklin Graham on Friday, June 5, 2015

“At Wells Fargo, serving every customer is core to our vision and values,” Wells Fargo spokesperson Christina Kolbjornsen told The Charlotte Observer on Monday in response to Graham’s post. “Diversity and inclusion are foundational to who we are as a company. Our advertising content reflects our company’s values and represents the diversity of the communities we serve.”

Religion News Service writer Eliel Cruz noted the irony of Graham making his statement on Facebook, a company that openly supports gay marriage. Facebook is just one of many pro-LGBT companies, the long list of which includes Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Nike and countless others.

Graham has long spoken out against homosexuality and same-sex marriage — and appears to be putting his money where his mouth with this recent announcement.

In a March 2013 interview with Charlotte Observer, the evangelist went on a tirade against same-sex couples adopting, saying, “You can adopt a child into a marriage, but you can also recruit children into your cause. I believe in protecting children, OK? From exploitation, all exploitations.”

Graham is no stranger to forcing beliefs on people, so perhaps he was speaking from experience. But whether he’s planning on abandoning Google and Facebook to promote the anti-gay cause stands to be seen.

#DropAndGiveMe10 Viral Pushup Charity Challenge Raises Money For Military Families

You don’t need ice or a bucket to take part in the latest charitable challenge gone viral. The only prerequisite is a desire to help families of fallen men and women in uniform.

And some upper-body strength.

The #DropAndGiveMe10 challenge is heating up online, asking participants to both complete 10 pushups on camera and donate a chosen amount for each pushup toward the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation. Those who complete the feat are encouraged to challenge three others to do the same.

What started as a small grassroots effort before Memorial Day took off once TV personality Bear Grylls of “Man vs. Wild” completed the challenge on May 23, Cynthia Kim, the foundation’s co-founder, told The Huffington Post in an email. Grylls passed the challenge on to the “Today” show’s Kathie Lee Gifford, actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson and NFL athlete Drew Brees.

Star power began getting the word out on the campaign as well as the foundation, which funds college scholarships for military children who’ve lost a parent in the line of duty. Gifford and Brees completed the task, along with a growing list of other celebs who’d been nominated, including Andy Cohen and Matt Lauer.

“We’ve been blown away by the reaction,” Kim told HuffPost, noting other media personalities like Jimmy Fallon, Meredith Vieira and Bill O’Reilly have been challenged. The videos have garnered millions of page views. “It is overwhelming to see the support for our mission through the pushup challenge and to know that so many of ‘our kids’ will be supported.”

I’m doing the #DropAndGiveMe10 pushup challenge – I nominate Kathie Lee Gifford Drew Brees & Jesse Tyler Ferguson

Bear Grylls nominated Drew Brees for the #DropAndGiveMe10 challenge – and he, along with his kids, accepted!

Posted by New Orleans Saints on Friday, May 29, 2015

The Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation, which allocates funding for families of service members across all branches of the military, has provided more than $ 9 million in educational opportunities since its founding in 2002, according to Kim.

Kim started the foundation with her husband, David — a U.S. Army veteran — as a way to honor a young soldier in David’s unit who was killed in Panama in 1989. The soldier had been expecting a baby daughter, Kim told HuffPost. David’s concern for the fallen soldier’s family inspired him to launch the foundation years later.

The nonprofit fills a vital void in assisting such students in need, its website notes. Many aid groups, for example, only target specific military branches or units, and a lack of a centralized directory of organizations makes it difficult for families seeking financial help to find answers.

Funds raised through the challenge will help the foundation further bridge the gap between beneficial resources and the those who need them — a group of kids very worthy of the foundation’s help, according to Kim.

“Service, giving back, and selflessness is in their blood,” Kim explained to HuffPost of the children who benefit from the foundation, mentioning many of them are reluctant to accept financial help because they believe there are others who need it more than they do. “Their spirit of self-reliance and concern for others is so inspiring and it’s [a] testament to the values of their parents and all the men and women who serve in uniform.”

Young Money Rapper Flow Wanted In New Orleans Double Murder!

Police have obtained a warrant for the arrest of New Orleans rapper Widner “Flow” Degruy, who they said is wanted in connection with the double murder of two brothers last week.

Kendrick and Kendred Bishop, ages 22 and 18, were found shot early May 25 inside a black Kia sedan in the 4800 block of Bright Drive in eastern New Orleans. Both died there, police said. Investigators have not released information on a motive for the shooting.

NOPD said surveillance video showed Degruy, 23, and a second unidentified suspect “possibly running from the scene and making a purchase at a nearby store.” Degruy appears in the video wearing a dark colored hooded shirt, police said. The other suspect wears a hat and short pants.

Degruy was signed to Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment label in 2012. He would face two charges of second-degree murder, police said, and was identified as a suspect during Detective Gregory Johnson’s investigation.

Jay Rock Breaks Bread On “Money Trees Deuce” [LISTEN]

The glory from the 2012 classic good kid, m.A.A.d city was Kendrick Lamar’s but you’ll find plenty of fans and critics who will argue that his TDE labelmate Jay Rock had the verse. On the song “Money Trees,” the two MCs traded cleverly worded bars while specifically touching on how the root of evil leads not only to bad decisions in the hood, it also challenges close-knit friendships; even when blood ties are involved.

Topically, it was music worth treasuring and to jumpstart the campaign for his long-awaited sophomore album, Jay Rock rocks dolo on its sequel, “Money Trees Deuce.” Although duets (especially with K. Dot are always appreciated) the original Top Dawg gatekeeper has three verses worth of calculative rhymes to get off his chest and the record becomes its own man outside of the aforementioned song’s shadow. Producers Flippa and J Proof help put Rock’s poetry in motion with a serene instrumental that accented with light horns and a slow-moving drum cadence.

Listen to Jay Rock’s “Money Trees Deuce” and be sure to tell Top how you like it on Twitter.

EXCLUSIVE: Turk Subpoenas Universal Music Group In Lawsuit Against Cash Money

(AllHipHop News) Tab “Turk” Virgil has already claimed one victory in his attempt to earn back royalty and publishing payments from Bryan “Birdman” Williams and Ronald “Slim” Williams’ Cash Money Records. The New Orleans rapper won a default motion against his former label earlier this month.

[ALSO READ: Turk Wins Default Motion Against Cash Money Records]

Turk is now seeking information from Cash Money’s parent company Universal Music Group to help determine how much he should be rewarded from the suit.

According to a source with firsthand knowledge of the case, Turk’s legal team has issued subpoenas to UMG and Universal Music Publishing Group in order to get access to accounting on the artists’ master recordings and publishing connected to Cash Money.

In the original court documents, Turk requested at least $ 1.3 million, but the judge could award him a higher amount. It is suspected Cash Money owes Turk payments regarding over 100 recordings with the imprint. The parties are scheduled to return to court in July.

Between 1997 and 2001, Turk released several singles as a member of Cash Money’s Hot Boys including “We On Fire” and “I Need A Hot Girl.” It is estimated the group has sold over 2 million albums to date.

As a solo artist, Turk released his debut studio album Young & Thuggin’ via Cash Money. He also appeared on records by other CMR acts Juvenile, Lil Wayne, and Big Tymers.

AllHipHop.com contacted representatives of Universal Music Group and Universal Music Publishing Group. As of press time, UMG declined to comment and UMPG has not responded to the matter. Turk and his attorney Patrick Costello declined to comment on this story.

Chris Christie Spent $82K Of Tax Payer’s Money On Fat Boy Food At NFL Games

New Jersey governor Chris Christie is oft the punchline for jokes about his waistline. But there may be a good reason for that.

The 52-year-old potential Republican presidential nominee has just been outed spending thousands of tax dollars on Ricky Rozay-esque eating habits at NFL games.

Reports Watchdog.org:

Christie spent $ 360,000 from his state allowance during his five years in office. More than 80 percent of that money, or $ 300,000, was used to buy food, alcohol and desserts, according to a New Jersey Watchdog analysis of records released by the governor’s office.

In addition to his $ 175,000 a year salary, the governor receives $ 95,000 a year in expense advances, paid quarterly by the state. In the state budget, it is listed as “an allowance of funds not otherwise appropriated and used for official receptions on behalf of the state, the operation of an official residence, for other expenses.”

While Christie returns surplus funds to the state each year, Treasury officials say he does not submit receipts or accounting for the public monies he spends. The governor’s ledger, obtained from Christie under the Open Public Records Act, offers a rare, if partial glimpse of a controversial expense account shrouded in secrecy.

Christie’s most notable spending spree occurred during the 2010 and 2011 NFL football seasons at MetLife Stadium, where the New York’s Giants and Jets play their home games. New Jersey’s governor traditionally enjoys free use of luxury boxes for games and other events at the government-owned venue, but food and beverages cost extra.

On 58 occasions, Christie used a debit card to pay a total of $ 82,594 to Delaware North Sportservice, which operates the concessions at MetLife. The governor’s office did not provide any receipts, business reasons or names of individuals entertained, but defended the expense.

“The official nature and business purpose of the event remains the case regardless of whether the event is at the State House, Drumthwacket or a sporting venue,” said Christie’s press secretary Kevin Roberts in a prepared statement.

The New Jersey Republican State Committee put the money back in the Treasury in 2012 to avoid a scandal and keep the governor’s presidential dreams alive. Good luck with that now.

Bow Wow Leaves Cash Money, Reunites With Jermaine Dupri & Snoop Dogg

The walls within the Cash Money Records camp have been crumbling for some time now.

As Birdman continues to do absolutely nothing about the broken relationship between him and Lil Wayne, Bow Wow a.k.a. Shad Moss has picked up his ball and deciding to return to his original stomping grounds of So So Def backed with help by Snoop Dogg.

The CSI: Cyber actor released an well-articulated video message explaining his decision to chuck the deuces.

“I’ve been quiet for 4 years…I didn’t wanna say nothing because I wanted to wait to the time was right and I wanted to make sure that when I said what I wanted to say, it was said correctly,” he explains.

“I wanna dictate when my music comes out. I’m tired of going to the studio to make records and then I listen to them. Because then they get old. And then y’all ask for new music and then I put it out–and then I don’t even want to hear it because I’ve been listening for 2-3 months and that has to stop, man.”

Although he was adamant he had the utmost respect for Birdman and there was no “bad blood” between them, he did retweet this perceivably deleted tweet where the slander is obvious.

Dating Him Just For The Money

Is it wrong for a woman to date a man because he could provide her with ‘the good life?’ It really depends on one’s perception of what the ‘good life’ is. Lots of men refer to driven, independent, confident, and self-assured women as gold diggers. Simply because they are not in a position to give her what she desires. The woman is viewed negatively, her character may be questioned, and reputation sullied. Is this really fair?
